Na I liked those 'ugly' trucks,, this one IS ugly.
Now if they were to acually do a diesel Dakota, that would be a different story

The Ram Mega Cab does look out of place in the light truck market. The short-short bed is useless. If someone is after space get a van and pull out the middle seats! Quigley offers a full size van 4x4 conversion for most full size vans models!
Vehicle manufactures may be going forward with design, innovation and technology. Soon, however, they'll be back to where vehicles were a decade ago: simple work vehicles. Manual everything - just with hybrid technology and better emissions. I heard that the CARB group is saying that brake dust is causing more of a problem now than emissions? ...who knows.
Now, manufactures are striving to put home conviences into vehicles such as DVD's and video games. At what expense? So our kids can sit on their ass even longer and get 'obese' as the statistics show? Long trips are understandable, but even with all the available technology, kids will get bored of it fast.
Why not put some treadmills in minivans under the seats? Self powered, or even 'hybrid' treadmills that fold under the already folding seats!
Ford has their new F150 with sliding roof rail consoles that can hold more stuff than my glovebox...it's just another thing to break. Until GM does a redesign, I believe them to have the simplist new trucks produced these days (full size). The Quad cab does its job well, there's no reason to extend it; besides to grab a few Ford and GM fans.
As far as a 2500 Dakota series goes, I doubt it'll ever fly in todays market place. Besides, they need a 1500 series first! Until it grows large enough to be a full size, then a 2500 series would be doable. At least then the frame should be able to handle the weight/payload better. Dodge should produce a stake truck with a flat, wider body than the standard box for the Dak, just like GM has for their new Colorado line! The old S-10 model had that option over a decade ago, I still see lots on the road today.
GM's also thinking of importing the stake 'truck' model of the Holden One Tonner (it has similar styling to the front of a GTO). Just, it'll have 2 doors (4 as a future option) and a 5.7L V8 (V6 standard).

Warlock:
I'm not sure about the 4x4 drivetrains, as the weather in Aussie land is relatively good - dry and solid. I also think the S Ute is a nice vehicle. Perhaps if they bring it to canada (doubt it), I can put some GM Visa card dollars towards the purchase, woooo.
The conversion is: hp x 0.7457 = kW
Just do the reverse and you'll get your numbers!

Heres another way to look at it. My dad has an F-250 Super crew and we love the room that it has. Its nice for long trips and its grea to pull our boat, however, my dad is a big dodge fan. The reason he shy'ed away from the dodge is because of the small back seat. Im 6'7 and my brothers 6'5 so the dodge quad cab just doesnt cut it. We both agree that the cummins is a better engine therefore, for people like us, the Mega_Cab is the solution. Yea its ugly but honestly i think it will start to grow on people. Just another way to look at it.....
