There is one very similar in my town. My mechanic did the restoration work on it. Gen 1, with a 5.9 dropped in, white with burgundy roof, chrome wheels, and gold badging. A real head-turner for sure.

I remember Carroll Shelby had a special edition of convertible Dakotas come out in the '80s. Could this be one of them?

I've got a '90 Dakota Sport Convertible. ACS made a limited number between '89 -'91. There were 2,842 made in '89, 1,039 in '90, and 8 made in '91 to finish the contract with ASC. Most of 'em are 239ci, but I think the '91 editions were 318ci. I've got the 239, and its slow as hell unfortunately, but the looks I get cruising down the street make up for that!
