Axle fluid change

I'm getting ready to change front and rear axle fluid. Have close to 15k, Due to the cold temps I am on schedule B, Wondering what everyone has used for fluid, Rear is synthetic, does anyone know if front axle fluid can be switched to synthetic? I wonder if there is a reason frt is not syn from factory like rear? Probably will use Mobil, does anyone know if there is an additive for rear axle (posi type fluid) nothing I see states this in owners manual. Thanks for any info. :cool:

All the diffs in the 2nd Gen Durango are open so you shouldn't need trac lock sauce.

i have a RWD so i only had the rear diff. to worry about....see my signature on where my allegiance lies...i went w/ the Royal Purple MaxGear....great stuff, with the scientific backing to support it!
