My 1996 Grand Caravan has been giving false temperature readings. Several minutes (2 to3) after startup the cooling fans go on full, the A/C compressor shuts off and the temperature gauge rises to hot and the warning light and beeper comes on. We have replaced the water temperature sensor and the Body Control Module without any luck. The engine is not hot when this happens. It was suggested that this is about the time the engine goes from open to closed loop. Does anyone have experiance with this?

Bubbles caught behind the T-stat could cause this condition, did you pressure test the system?
