Fuel Guage Problem

I own two vans. The first one, a 1997 Plymouth Voyager, has been a rock! 155,000 miles and still going strong. The second one, a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport, I am beginning to wish I had never bought it! A bunch of little problems have become more annoying than it is worth. The first one, the power steering hose recall, which I ended up doing myself, to the side door never closing the right way, to the latest, the fuel guage going haywire. Is the sending unit going to have to replaced, or could it just be a wire or ground somewhere. I do have access to a friends shop, but is this going to be a pain in the neck as well as exspencive?

Anyone have any ideas?
