I've noticed in the Mopar performance catalog that under each of the crate engine descriptions - it says

"the use of Air Conditioning is not recommended"

is there a problem or is that a recommendation because AC would drain pulley power or ???

For people that want a crate in a daily driver - could they add AC or ?

Based on my experience with my own car...it might be the lopey cam at idle that is the problem. The idle is so low and lumpy it won't drive the compressor fast enough, which causes the compressor clutch to slip and eventually it all starts to squeal and melt down. This is compounded by the alternator not putting out enough juice at idle either...for the same reason. I can run the AC fine at speed, but I have to turn it off if I am idling for long. AC could probably work fine as long as a less aggressive cam was used, but then it would run with the performance of your basic sedan.
