I need help finding the oil pressure sender/switch on a 1997 Chrysler Sebring
Convertible with the 2.5 Liter V6 engine.
My uncle is in town and his Sebring's oil pressure light came on.
We took the car to the local Dodge dealership in Lexington Ky (Freedom Dodge)
and they determined that the oil pressure sender/switch was bad - but did not
have the part, and can't get it until Tuesday. Apparently so many of these
oil switches go bad that the dealer did not have the part and neither did the
AutoZone down the street.
I found a GP Sorenson replacement sender at Advance Auto for $4.42, but I
can't locate the location on this V6 engine.
Haynes does not publish a manual for this 1997 Sebring model, but I bought the
1995-2001 Plymouth Breeze manual because it also has the same 2.5 liter V6,
but I can't find anything in the manual that shows the location of the switch.
I know on my 5.9V8 the oil pressure sender is adjacent to the distributor in
the back of the V8, but this transverse mounted 2.5 V6 doesn't have a
distributor.
Anyone guide me to the location of the oil pressure sender?
Is it underneath the engine somewhere?
