I bought a 98 grand caravan about a week ago, right away i noticed sometimes when i turn the key, it just clicks once and thats it, after two or three times turning it will start right up, the problem is intermittent. now it appears it will not start at all, is this my starter, or a relay, or a solenoid, etc. thanks for the help in advance

I'm tempted to say the starter. Anyone else have any ideas ?

I've got the same problem in my wife's 1994 Caravan 179K. Except it won't start at all. It's been running perfect. Had a trany rebuilt a couple years ago and that's it. All of the sudden this morning, just the relays click. I can jump the solenoid to the battery (+) and easily get it started. Just curious if you found the problem that I may check too?
Thanks,
Robert

ours did this for a bit... then the starter relay froze closed.. so even with the key off the starter still kept going.
so replace the starter..

Thanks a bunch for the quick reply. I managed to finally figure it out. Whew! I poped open the relay under the hood and started looking at it. One of the button contacts was completely gone. I got the wife to turn the key while I mashed the contact closed. IT STARTED! $10 and a trip to Autozone did the trick!
