Hello,

Can anyone tell me if the front defrost grid is connected to the defrost mode on the HVAC or the rear defrost grid?

The other day we had frost on the windshield, and I had the van running with defrost only but noticed that the grid heated up before the rest of the windshield.

Could it be just the heat from the fan heating up the filaments?

BTW it is a 2001 GC. ;)

My interpretation of the owners manual, the button with the squiggly lines, turns on the:
- rear lift gate window defrost grids
- side mirrors
- lower windshield (wiper area) grid.

The snowflake button, activates the A/C compressor for de-humidification of inside air.

That's what I thought, just wondering if anyone has had the same experience I had.

the front windshield runs when you turn on the rear defroster along with the power mirror heaters if you have them .
