My 1990 B250 van does a strange thing. Driving it does fine until I turn the steering to the left. Then I get a vibration thru the whole van.I dont feel it in the steering much and the closer I turn the wheel to the right the less it does it.It seems to be proportionate to the wheel rotation. The faster I go the faster it vibrates. I get the feeling it is coming from the rear somewhere.Any common problems with these vans that would do this?

Sounds like it could a bad front wheel bearing or perhaps a bad rear axle bearing. Turning to the left, you put a load on the right side wheel bearings. Have them checked.

I put new rotors, calipers,& pads on a while back.I repacked the bearings and looked them over.I thought they looked good.I figured that was not the problem since the vibration is not in the steering wheel.I might replace them anyway.

How much did you tighten them up? Over or undertightening them can kill them pretty fast.

It was doing this before I had taken the rotors off. I'm pretty sure I got it about right.

Just wondering... have you tried getting your tires balanced lately? There might be a wheel that's out of balance and causing that wheel to shake as it turns faster. I have a similar problem on my '91 B250, and it started right after I got new tires. I only feel it though when I'm hitting between 60 and 70 mph though.

It has done this even since I had new tires put on it.

Hmm, I'm starting to wonder if mine's the same way as yours now, since I've already heard from another person that they feel jerking when reaching high speeds between 60-70 mph and they have a van close to the same year as ours.

It might be a factory design fault that was never recalled because it was overlooked. I need to look into this further.

I dont have to be moving fast at all. I'd say 30 mph I can feel it.

Hmmmm this could be rear axle bearings.
