I have a 2005 Grand Caravan W/ 3.3 & 29,000 miles. I changed the plugs, Replaced the Air filter too, I still get very Poor gas Mileage, I can watch the gas gauge move while I drive, should I bring it into service, since it has a warranty till 36000 miles? What else can I do?

Your mileage with this vehicle should be in the 26-28 range on the highway, maybe 20 around town, and 23-24 combined. If you're getting less than that, take it in for warranty service ASAP. Something's wrong. Probably an oxygen sensor or EGR valve.

Chef,

you aren't driving in excess of 100mph or anything are you...if so, seeing the gauge move is normal! :-)...only kidding.

The above quoted figures are what you should be experiencing. Do you or are you carrying any excess weight in the van that might contribute to the problem? Have you checked your tires, their wear and their pressure? This time of year your pressure in the tires is drastically reduced due to the colder temperatures (air compresses at colder temps and lowers the pressure in the tire)...just some thoughts on things to check prior to a dealer visit.

Good luck.

Very good points. I'd like to also add check the alignment.

But also remember you're driving a van, that has so so aerodynamics and it heavier than a civic. Expect it to guzzle some gas.

yeah it's a "van", but with the 3.3, he should be getting 30 on the hwy. My new '05 GC SXT gets 28 on the interstate at 70mph. Averaged 21 city/hwy on last tank, it was mostly city.
For comparison, my '04 Ram 4x4 hemi with 33" BFG muds gets 11mpg avg!!!
