Hey guys, I have forever been wanting to build up an old Dodge A-100 and just today I found one in the local paper here is the add.
" For Sale 1965 Dodge A-100 cab over, Motor don't run, body has a little damage and rust, interior needs to be replaced, glass is in perfect condition. Have a Spare 360 runs but needs rebuilt and Crager S/S wheels 14x6 and 15x10. $850 obo"
So what do you guys think should I take him the $850 or if not what do you think would be a good price to offer? And do ya'll think this would make a nice lil Street Truck?

I think it would be a good project if your up for it! But first off I never pay asking price. I would go , point ofut some real down points of the vehicle and offer him $500 and have it in cash...you wave cash at someone that really wants to sell a car and you are more then likely taking that car. I have bought and sold alot of stuff and I never get interested about selling something if someone is just throwing a number at me ...you wave cash and I am willing to bet you leave there with that truck for less the $850. Good luck and tell us how it goes!

Sounds good, and I can just imagine what you would do to that truck, considering what you did to your żEX-Neon?
Later,

I just have always liked the look of the A-100's so I will try to take him $500 cash later today and see what happens

Well guys I got me a new Neon but told the guy with the truck I would be back, here is the thing. The truck is in a lot worse shape then the add made it sound, it only has the second D in the crome letters on the front, no headlights or crome light rings, the driverside door is only held on by 2 bolts and the tailgate is gone, Plus the thing has like 5 spots where it is rusted all the way through. Is this Still worth the attempt at a Project and if so How much Cash should I take to offer him.......the title IS clean and clear and the guy will put down in writting and have it noterized(spelling??) that if there are any back taxes or fee's he will pay for them.

If it is that bad I would offer him like $350-$450 and that is great news on the neon! Are you getting all your stuff out of the other one?

Scott I am going to take the motor and tranny out, the front nose peice and the muffler, I wanted to take the system out but I couldn't even pry open the trunk with a 5 foot long bar. And since I am paying for this new Neon out of my pocket I am going to use the insurance money to buy more go fast goodies for the new Neon and see if I can't make it a little faster.
As for the Truck I will go over again tommorow and start with the $350 and go from there, if he wants more than $450 then I guess my search for an A-100 will continue

Those are great plans forthe neon! I am glad to hear it is working out for you. If anyhting I would keep the exterior stokc on the new neon and put all the money under the hood that way you keep some of the element of surprise....I also like stock exteriors so I am not one to give advice :stk:
With the truck I would offer $300 to start....never hurts to low ball...if it works out you ahve more money to put into it :D  Good luck with everything!

I see ya point with the element of suprise but I am one that likes to go for Show also, I had won many car shows with my Neon due to the slight interior work and the custom Body Kit, but who knows I might just do the performance mods and wheels and lower and that be it keeping the outside lookin Stock

On the truck... I'm sure you could find something else that won't require as much sheet metal replacement... no matter what you pay for the truck today, you'll be putting a whole lot of effort into the thing... if do you get this one, make sure it is THE one you absolutely have to have... else you'll curse even louder when that hammer hits your thumb!
my $0.02

I only got it tht low becuase he had to move it or the city was going to fine him $250 and when he rejected my $450 bid I went to walk away and he stopped me saying he would take it for whatever my next price was, it didn't matter so I got the cash out and said here ya go and he signed the title over
