Hi all,
I searched, but didn't find my answer.
So, here it goes...
95 caravan with 2.5L.
The first time out each morning, the temp gauge goes hot after about 5 min. of driving. I pull over before it gets too hot, and shut it off. After a couple minutes, I start it back up and it's at normal temp. The rest of the day i can drive all I want and it never overheats again. Until the next morning.
It never really overheats. I know where it normally runs, and stop before it gets to the "hot" range.

The fan seems to operate normally, and I just replaced the thermostat and waterpump.
Any ideas? I'm stumped...

Thanks in advance,
Glenn Guy

I would take a look at your t-stat again.

When it does overheat, did you feel your upper rad hose to see if it is warm ? If it is, then it is not the t-stat, but if it is cold, then I would say your t-stat has a tough time 'waking up' in the mornings.

A sleepy t-stat huh? :D
I thought about that too, but it's new.

Thanks, I'll give it a check. Or maybe just replace it with one from the dealer this time. It's not like it's a tough job anyway...

Sounds like a T stat that is sticking or you have air in the system that needs to be bled out .
