if you have trouble getting the link to work, open another window, go to eBay and use this as the search:

Item number: 4523732291

here's the description:

I don't know this car, but it has the right stuff, but I think the nitrous isn't really needed.

It's got to be scary fast.

It sold for $45,800 - a real deal for the party that bought it.

If it's real, it would be really sweet. However, I remain a skeptic, and here's why:

First, look at the pictures. Does it look like a very wealthy and rich neighborhood? No. Most people have friends that are somewhat in their own "financial range", and most mid to mid-upper class people will not know someone that is filthy rich (as in, be their friend). So, how can this guy be friends with someone that owns an Enzo? It seems somewhat unlikely, and the fact that he mentions this makes it seem even more unlikely.

Second, look at what he says after the nitrous system. He says it is a 200 HP shot, which is a lot, but then he mentions that he is conservative. Either that is a joke, or he is just trying to make this Viper seem more outrageous than it already is (if it is real).

Finally, wouldn't someone here know someone or something about a 1000hp+ and 1200+ torque Viper? If it was true, he'd most likely be a part of some online message board, and the Viper community online isn't so huge, so the likelyhood of someone here knowing something about him online or even in real life isn't all that small.

So although this may have a lot of credibility, it would not come as a surprise to me if it, in fact, was not a real auction. The seller's feedback on Ebay does also negate a lot of the points I brought up earlier. It seems like a real auction, but for some reason I remain somewhat doubtful.

Also, if he wanted to, he could've made a hell of a lot more than $46k off of that car. :D

The price seems way too low for me, too, though for a non-modified Viper of that year, it would be a good price. Modifications don't add a whole lot to the resale value. I look at all the money I've put in my vehicles as a hobby, and not as an investment.

It's true that the money you put in never makes it back to your wallet, but when you put $40k in you're expecting more than a penny to be coming back to you.

EDIT: A Viper with those same parts but sold by a big tuner (such as Hennessey) would sell for so much more. I guess the name has a lot to do with it.

The name in that case would definatly have something to do with it...

But man, 45 for that setup... that's one heck of a deal.

If it sounds too good to be true, then maybe it is...

Yea, just like the 03 Mustang Salen I saw for sale the other day... for 19K It was just a GT with full Saleen kit decals and interior.

200 shot is average...not too wild. I can go 250 without a fuel system upgrade and 300-400 is possible with some simple mods.

but THAT deal seems too good to be true.

I just signed on to this site so I am not familiar with it, but I need help. I am a welding instructor at Durango High School, Durango Colorado and my students and I installed a Viper V-10 into a 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A. It is complete except for the final sand and paint. We can't get the engine to remain running. It will start but immediatly dies. Fuel pressure is good and fuel pump is running until PCM stops getting signal from crank and cam sensors. We have two wires from C100 that are a twisted wire pair (purple and white) that went to the VTA which we do not have. Is there a way to over-ride the VTA through the CCD bus?? and make it run?? I went to the local Dodge dealer and talked to a tech who called the tech hotline but they won't give any info because it is a swap. The hotline tech did say it was a voltage and not a frequency that goes to the PCM through the VTA but wouldn't say what it was. (could be 5 to 8 volts). I don't want to burn up the PCM by wiring them together. I 'stacked' (put in series) 1.5 volt AA batteries to 12 volts (8 batteries) and can't get it to run. Should I just wire them together and see what happens?? Any help would help. My e-mail is: e2roc@hotmail and my phone number is: 1-970-946-0710. We are so close and I don't want to burn anything up. It seems to me that the PCM is telling the ICM to shut down. I need some way to tell the computer that I do own it. You can see the car by going to the Durango Herald. I think keyword search Challenger should work. It was in the paper about three weeks ago. Thanks. Can you pass this around.

might wanna try and post at Viper Club of America in the RT/10 and GTS forum. That is where most of the Viper tuners and gearheads post. Probably would have an answer within a few hours.
