I bought a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan with 33000 miles on it and it is making a knocking sound when I steer left/right while parked.
I took the vehicle to Dodge and they say it is a normal noise created by air pockets.
I don't agree with the dealer. Any ideas on what I should do next?
Thanks

That is not a normal noise, there shouldn't be any air pockets in the power steering system. It sounds like you may have a problem with the rack & pinion assembly itself, an inner tie rod end (which screw into the rack), or possibly the brackets that hold the rack assembly in place have come loose.

This might also be a bad belt tensioner. Look at the engine and all related components while someone is turning the wheel causing the noise. See if you can spot any tell tell signs.
