98 stratus... V6 2.5lt Check engine light on. idles rough, but crusing is fine. any ideas?

A loose gas cap can cause that. Make sure it's tight.

Mine was the same like a week ago i was cleaning the engine and then I started the car and a heard a weird deeper exhaust sound and I disconnected the bettery for 15mins and put it back on and the check engine light went off it was fixed.

Try unpluging the power harness from the system. They are 2 huge plugs on the drivers side pull the pins and unplug then try to start your car it wont start just crank it 3 times then put the plugs back in lock them then start it up again it should be fine GOOD LUCK
