where, besides a junkyard, can i get transmission lines for my 78 pickup. i've checked suppliers in the magazines and they carry no pre-made lines. unless i misread them. i can get straight tubes and bend them myself, but if i can get pre-bent, that would be cool.

That's the way I do it.I've found 5/16(I think) steel line that are double flared, with male fittings ,cut one end off, slid the 2 female fittings from the old trans line and reflared the cut end.You will need a double flaring tool to do this, unless you want to put a piece of hose in one end. There's probably an aftermarket co. that makes them, but I just do it this way and save a buck or 2....Doug

there's two really clean and cheap junkyards around here that i probably can find good lines in. i saw on one tube company's website that the straight tubes are a whole lot cheaper than pre-formed lines. then i'd have to buy a bender and a flare tool, but then you can't have too many tools can you.
