Purchased this vehicle 4 months ago with only 15,000 miles on her. I've put on about 2,500 miles and the head gasket is gone. I am not a happy camper. Anyone have any info?

The new Chrysler motors have a bad head gasket problem. With the Iron block, and the aluminum head, the head gaskets go rather quickly. With only that few of miles, it sounds like the last owner didn't drive it much. This may have contributed to it failing so soon.

neoncoupe,
Yes (to the replacement)... same advice on the 98 Avenger (and thanks for that as well). As it turns out, there were major problems w/the Avenger my daughter wanted and we just last night picked up a 2000 Neon (std model & w/AT) w/22k miles. They are providing extended warranty but I think since she needs it 2b very reliable, I'll go ahead and replace the gasket.
BTW: What does "mls" stand for... mopar somethin... ?
