Hello to everyone. We got our silver rocket 'RT' in November. Very sweet ride. I have never been a girl, (yes a girl!!) that likes the average vehicle. My first car was a Dodge Dart , followed by another of the same, and then a duster. Many a fellow in high school with a rustang or simular junk, had his arse kicked by me....LOL.
We haven't made any modifications to our RT yet. We have ordered in a hood scoop for it, and will be making a fiberglass mold of the hood to put that scoop on, as we don't want to damage the original hood. The weather has not been too cooperative to do much more, and we aren't about to kick our '67 formula S out of the carport to work on the Magnum right now....

My only bitch so far, is these crappy continental tires the car came with. Being winter right now, the first few miles of driving are horrid with lots of vibration as that crap inside the tire thumps around (the self sealing stuff in there). We've had a good dump of snow in the last week and a half, and I got caught in a storm on the way home last night, and that car was all over the road because of those tires, if I even attempted to drive more than 35mph. Ass end kept slipping around.....and though the ESP was trying to compensate, it was a tough job with those crappy skins.
Did all the RT's come with those continental tires?
Curious.....I am sure I will just burn them off right quickly, and go buy something better.

Great site, I've been lurking for awhile....

NO soccer mom here....LOL :nutkick:

Thanks,

Sadly, because I live over the border it most likely won't be feasible to deal with this place, because of duties and shipping costs. I learned the hard way a few years ago, what costs can add up to when shipping in from the U.S.
Darn, sounds like a great deal!!
Oh, well, at least you get to make the most of it... :)

Can't you drive across the border and buy a set of tires and have them installed ?
I know when I bought my 1997 chevy suburban, the tires were covered for 3-yrs. 36,000-miles.
does dodge cover tires under their warranty ?
My Magnur R/T has been pulling and drifting to the right since new.
The fix is to stretch the craddle as they call it, but it is still straightening the frame that came out of alignment from the factory.

I only have 9,000 miles on it and the two tires that have been on the front for the first 2500-miles, rotated frt.L for frt.R and vise versa. RL with LR. then I let the dealer rotate them at 7500 or so. They swaped frt.tires with rear tires.
The front tires are worn out, down to the wear bars.

But they claim the car is aligned. :VHOT:

Has anyone tried out the Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires? Not the Asymmetrico's. The straight Zero's. I'm looking at using the 255/55/18 size, which is mighty close to original diameter (4/10's of an inch).

Hear that they're very expensive.

$132 each. That seems roughly average unless there's a sale on somewhere. The Kumho Ecsta ASX's I was looking at were the same price. BFG's are going for $82 at tire rack and discount tire but that sale will be long gone by the time I buy.

Angie,
It's good to hear of another *girl* like me! I haven't yet owned my own car, but I'm eyeing the Magnum RT with a gleam in my eye. From what people say here, it sounds purty good.

I've always loved them fast cars! :D

While the 255 may physically fit on the wheel, it's really too wide for the 7.5" RT wheel. You'll end up with imprecise handling because the wheel will roll over the sidewall in the corners. The widest I'd go on the stock RT rims is 245mm. However, if what you're looking for is better forward bite, which doesn't really seem to be a problem for me, go for it. I just worry the result will be vague turn-in and sloppy handling with 255s.

Thx billapex, I should have mentioned I have 18"x8'' wheels on there now.

What you bring up has been a concern to me, but I have no experience with it. I've been eyeballing the differential of the new wheels to the hoped-for tires but haven't taken the time to make a post. Do you think a 255 would work on an 8" wide rim? Cornering is important to me and the last thing I need is to roll over the rims.

The BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDWS comes in 245/55/18 which is an exact match for the original diameter (28.6"). and its 30 bucks cheaper. Maybe that would be a smarter move all around.
