How can one improve the headlights for a 1994 Dodge Ram Van/Wagon.

Are your lenses "yellowing" over?

The bulbs are just a basic 9004 Halogen type. Most parts stores carry a few different versions. I know Advance Auto Parts has a high intensity silver bulb that puts out brighter white light and they have a high intensity blue bulb that puts out a bright light with a blue hue.

Yeah, one lense is yellowing. The driver's side light was replaced after a minor accident.

I bought a pair of H4 headlights for the Omni and they're awesome! The lenses are marked DOT and are for RH Traffic. 55/60 Watt. The light dispersal pattern is much better than the lights on the van. It'd be nice to have some for the van.

I don't know of any upgraded headlight assemblies for the vans, but you can replace the bulb with one of the bulbs I mention above. Of course the lens that yellowing over will hinder even the new bulb.

The yellowing or resin coloring over those lenses, I "believe" can be wiped clean using wet sand and a cloth. Just remove the lense and pour some wet sand into it, and start scrubbing. I was told this is one of the best ways to remove the yellow in the lenses, but I have yet to actually try it, so I'm not too sure as to how well it works.

I used a buffing wheel and some white rubbing compound...it did an OKAY job, but not like new.
