How do the brakes feel? Any idea why they went back to
drums?

They went back to drums because they are lighter, yet have the same stopping power as the previous discs they used.

Bought my Gray SLT Club Cab 2wd V6 Auto on Feb. 2nd. I love it. I traded in my 03 SLT+ 2wd V6 Club cab for it... the new 6 feels a lot stronger, it shifts smoother and gets better gas mileage.

I am a proud Laramie owner from northern NJ. I traded in a 2000 cc Dakota 4x4 for an 05 CC Laramie. This truck rides great. I hope to see more on the roads also. Hey Wizard, where in Northern NJ are you? I bought mine from Dover Dodge. They had 135 Dakotas to pick from. I got the Light Almond color. They only had 2 in that color and that is what I wanted. I hope the sales increase on the Dakotas. I never saw a dealer that had such a large inventory. It made me wonder if nobody wants these trucks. I feel that you get the most for your money compared to the other trucks. The 4.7 is a great engine. 5 years in my 2000 Dakota and no probs.

Hey Wizard, it looks like we have the same truck. I will keep an eye out for you. I work in Oakland and travel Rt. 3 & 17 frequently. The first time I saw the Light Almond Mettallic, I liked it. It does not seem to be a common color. Where did you buy yours?

I would like to know which one is better, club cab or quad cab? I prefer the club cad cuz the box is slightly bigger and can accomodate a 4wheeler and ski-doo easier, but the rear "seats" are so tiny, that i hate them.

I had a 2000 club cab and now another 2005 club cab. My favorite thing about the Dakota is the 6.5 foot bed. No other mid-size truck has that. My Honda Rincon ATV fits perfect in the back without tieing it down and the tailgate closed. I dont need the rear seats for passengers since we also have a Jeep Liberty. The extra space is fine for me and you really get a lot of use out of the long bed. Everyone has a different use for their truck. The Dakota fits my needs perfectly. It all comes down to personal preference.

im waiting for the H.O. models to come out before i think about trading my truck, supposedly they're going to be faster than the 5.9 R/Ts and get better gas mileage

I'm thinking about buying a 4.7-liter H.O. Dakota Laramie Quad Cab 4x4 tomorrow. The regular 4.7 provides more than enough power for the Dak, so I can't wait to experience one with the H.O. 4.7!
