Kind of looks like a Magnum from the side, without the hatch back.

Looks pretty decent I'd say. The one gripe I have is the same rims are the Intrepid/Magnum. Think it needs some that would be unique to it.... and some wider rear tires for the aggressive stance. Overall, I'd say it looks pretty darn good, I was worried that all it would be was a cross of the Magnum and 300C.

We need s.wiegel to drop it and slap on some nice chrome 20"s or 22"s. Then I could form an official opinion. But so far I give it a

Of the 300c the Magnum and the charger the charger has the weaker look. It should have the more muscle look of the 3 and the 4 door doesn't look right like it does on the other 2.

I agree, the concept car had a much more muscle car look to it. They blew it in this one!

Chrysler won't be happy!
Yeah, that's what I was just thinking. :o
But honestly, it was bound to happen wasnt it? I mean, with all the speculation and hype this car has received over the last year, how could they honestly expect photos not to eventually get leaked.
As for the car, it looks pretty solid to me! The grille and front fascia is a little nicer than I thought it would be too. Interior looks almost exactly the same as a 300's though.
S.Weigel already made a sweet coupe chop....... it's in the "concept" forum. :)

I think a great addition to the car would be suicide doors. Going to look at one as soon as they come out (thats if the 6.1L is a option).

I like the front end but the Charger is supposed to be a performance vehicle. I know it has the HEMI but it looks like a soccer mom sedan, not an American muscle car.

I think it would look alot better also if they lowered it some. It's to high from the ground. Would look more aggressive lowered. Also I read that dogde will offer a performance handling package that has wider 18" wheels. This would make the stance look alot better. I don't like the touring looking wheels on it. I agree it needs better looking wheels.

Man what a let down.......
After the awesome concept they came out with a couple years back where it was a 4dr version but the rear doors blended right in it almost looked like a couple to this thing. I think they dropped the ball on this one.

Not bad! I still feel I need to see it in person to truly appreciate the curves and proportions.
If I had to choose right now between a Charger and 300C, I would probably take the 300C.
What these cars are lacking is a manual tranny! Unfortunately they will probably never put a manual in them. The sales numbers just don't support manuals, damn it, I love manuals! :D

Yeah, that would have been nicer. Looks more like a Viper, so maybe they didn't want to hurt Viper sales. This Charger looks so much like a 300 with a little bit of the Magnum wagon.

Heres what a droppped black and wampa striped Charger will look like... :)
That looks alot better. Maybe there will be a huge array of aftermarket oarts to make it look more mean.

Looks pretty good, but I was hoping the grill and headlights would be a little more aggressive looking. Right now the car looks too nice to be a Charger.

I would agree with you but I was reading a magazine today(I think it was car and driver) and they were featuring a Chrysler concept that is built off the Viper platform. That was one hot car! It had the 6.1L Hemi in it and main was it sharp! I hope they come out with it.....the estimated price was $50K .

I bet it out sells the GTO as well. The main problem with the GTO is that is is(or WAS I should say) overpriced and it didnt appeal to the GTO owners of old as well as GM had hoped. I think if they made it a bit more aggressive with a sporter appearence and dropped the enitial price a bit it would have raised a few more eyebrows. The only thing the 2004 GTO had going for it was the out of the box performance and the ability to except mods well, other then that there is not attraction, at least not from me.
The 2005 GTO is another story. Much better styling, much more aggressive and the performance(which I thought was the only strong point in the 04) gets a nice shot with the 400hp LS2 motor.

Two too many doors! If it weren't for the bold cross-hair grille, it would look like all the other family sedans out there. I want a 2-dr with rear spoiler and 6.1 Hemi with floor shifter wrapped in a sporty console.

WOW...... it amazes me that Chrysler/Dodge have come so far with the Magnum and 300 and then they come out with this so called 'charger' and fall about 5 spaces backward. It reminds me of the 78' Magnum with the grill it has. I don't think the car looks bad, but I think the Magnum R/T and 300C have the better styling cues and are tougher looking. This car should have been called an Intrepid IMHO but not a Charger. I just hope they can come out with a 2-door Hemi car.

this car just bites, its sits to tall, doesnt look sporty, and looks like it has the aerodynamic ability of my truck
btw s. weigel as usual your chops are awesome.... but its a shame DCX didnt give you something better to start from... you know i think you should try evolving the 99 concept with some of the styling cues used on todays dodges... basically evolve the concept into what we could have expected today if the designers didnt pass the peace pipe around so much

The new Charger has its ups and downs.
- Hopefully, they will advertise the car like they advertise the new Magnum.
- Aggresive and Different.

Me too! So far I have to completely agree with every statement you've made about this charger scott.
I've been saying for a long time now that I'm really dissapointed in this new charger but I'd need to see real pics of it and in person. Well, now that the real pics are up I'm even more dissapointed. Even if they did give this thing a different name, I still wouldn't be too excited about it. Looks like if I end up getting a car, the chrysler 300C SRT-8 is gonna be it.
Steve, keep trying to get a job designing for DC, they NEED you! You can list everyone on this site as references. With tens of thousands of references they should at least consider you.

Sorry guys, but I don't like it. Too much has been copied from other cars--not original enough. And the four doors gotta go. The interior does look nice.
I was really hoping for a sweet, functional high performance car--instead it looks like a cross between 300C/truck/intrepid.
Edit: But much better than that compact POS they had in the early 80's--the boosted TC3/Turismo.
