Hey all,
New member here and I have a quick question for anyone who may have run into this before. I have a '78 D200 LWB Club Cab (read "large and in charge" hehe) with a very strong 400, now this truck came loaded from the factory but over the years, of course things fail. Since I have gotten a hold of the vehicle, I have done quite a few improvements. One of the things I would like to do is remove the A/C compressor and components, for many reasons, like I don't want to repair it, and I really wish that large compressor was out of my way. Anyways, I have noticed that if the comp is off then the belts will not line up as they should, I am in the process of finding a big block donor truck to get any pulleys and accesories needed to complete this. Have any of you done this? And if so, what exactly should I purchase from the ol' bone yard? Thanks in advance!

Good luck,Jesse. The biggest problem I ever have is getting the pulleys and belts straight.I'm usually putting a big block in place of a slant six though.I have buckets and buckets of brackets, linkage ect.,but it seems I can never find the piece I need.:mad:I think what you're looking for is an idler pulley that will go in place of the a.c. comp.for the belts to run on.It should be a 2 groove piece,if you can find one.Alot of times I end up making stuff(it's good to have a welder sometimes)if I can't find it.Most times when people pull an engine out of something they just throw away most of the accessorys, sad but true...Doug

you might want to try the dealer. They may still have the pulley available.
