A whining noise is heard from the left front wheel while drving greater than 25 mph, but only when the weather is cold (less than 35F). After driving for a few miles (around 20) the noise disapates and finally goes away. Doesn't occur in warmer weather. Not the brakes - just replaced. Can't afford to move to warmer climates. I'm guessing wheel bearing. 29K miles. Any experience out there with this problem? Thanks - Happy Holidays

I had my wheel bearings both go out on my 97 Breeze around 150,000 miles. A quick way to verify if it is a wheel bearing is if the sound goes away when going around a turn. I believe if when turning right and the noise goes away it is the left wheel and vis-versa, turning left and the noise goes away it is the right. If the noise does not go away when turning, you may want to post more vehicle specifics, engine, tranny and brake system type and see if anyone has experienced this symptom and found any other problems.
