Coming off the line, let's say out of a toll booth where the acceleration is necessary, otherwise you're stuck behind ol' lady slow-driver. When I mash the gas the tach nearly goes into the red before shifting into second. Seems like a lot of power is lost in that time frame.
Anyone have this experience or know of a way to shorten the shift times?

Don't you just push the shiffer to the right and it goes to 2nd when ever you want
it to?

To the right? I've only been able to downshift to the left 4 gears but nothing is to the right once I'm back in normal gear.

I mean when you take off in low gear you tap to the right to go through the gears. Not sure on this as I pick up my RT the first of the week.

Well, I don't usually downshift before I move. I have downshifted to pick up some extra passing power, but haven't found the need to downshift off the line.

Hi Magnum Man. This is what I do, and it works great. As you are stopped, such as at the toll booth, you pull towards you on the shifter. The gear numbers on the dash will go down to 1. Then you punch the gas pedal and leave it pressed to the floor. The car takes off....As you feel the gear should go to second, you tap once away from you to the right on the shifter and it shifts quickly into 2nd, and again when you feel the car should shift to third, you tap or quickly push out again. Every time you do this, the number on the dash will increase. I never leave the car in drive and expect it to shift correctly. You may already know all this, but I wanted to be sure. Leaving it in regular drive and pressing all the way down on the gas, and leaving it down, never gets me anywhere in a hurry, and never seems to shift properly.

If I were you, I would make up some excuse to go out right now and see how fast the car is like that. If you never shot off the line that way, you haven't lived yet. Bring in the New Year with a blast. Tell the wife you need milk or something...

Hmmm...if you are at WOT, then I think it will shift once hits rev limit irregardless of your tapping shifter Right. If I have it floored in 1st and tap Right at 4000rpm, as long as I keep it floored it will wait till it hits the rev limiter to shift. Know what I mean?

I auto stick it from first and make sure you have the traction controll off. It should take off with tires squeeling and you will qualify for a speeding ticket in only a few short seconds.
