As some of you may know, I got a Kirk long tube header and a af/x solid motor mount for christmas.
I got done putting them in yesterday, and finished this morning. Motor mounts have always been a pain in the ass, so I figured that it wouldn't go smoothly, and it didn't.
The header installed pretty easily, I had to retap some threads in the head, so that took a little time, it was also pretty hard to hold up the header and put the bolts in and make sure the gasket stayed in place by my self. Then I had to connect it up to the rest of the exhaust, which I had to cut after the cat to get the original manifold off and get all that rusted crap out of there. So now I don't have a cat, but I don't think the pipe I put in the place of where it should have been going is sealed that great. Anyways, The performance from it is GREAT. Nice deep sound, and its quite a bit faster now. On a short on ramp to the expressway, uphill, I got from about 25 to 85 in a VERY short distance. Quite Nice.
And the af/x solid motor mount is SOLID. I think I lost a tooth. Actually, its not that bad, its only bad at idle, so I have to put it into nuetral. Yes, I'm still automatic, thats my next plan.
Anyways, both are worthwhile mods, and I think that the header has been one of the best mod's yet.
