So I have removed the "ear drum" and now I am ready to buy the stock replacement K&N filter.
So far I have found www.ajusa.com to be the cheapest (K&N part #33-2295) at 39.33 shipping included. But they are in CA (I am in IL) and I don't want to wait for 7-10 days. Any other places any of you are aware of?

Hey just for a different choice, Volant is bringing out their cold air intake after the first of the year. At least that is what a tech told me last week. They are the most expensive on the market but also the best. They told me that the other companies do there tests with the hood open and a fan blowing on them. He said that after the hood is closed in about 30 minutes the intake will start taking in hot air and the proformance will go down drastically. Volants is encased in a polycarbonate heat resitive box not tin or out in the open. The Volant tech told me that they also took out the eardrum on their "gunneypig" car and the owner said keep it out. This system will also have a attachment to pull cold air directely from the grill as well as the fender well. I did some homework and I am going to shell out the cash for the Volant. I will post the improvements after I get them.

Got mine at AutoZone. They are pretty competive to other stores. If your looking to get it REAL cheap, try e-bay.

Isn't that Volant suppose to mate up nicely to a particular aftermarket hood with scoop available now? Seems I read about that a while back.

Got my K&N filter for $38.95 with a recharge kit for an additional $10. Got it off ebay. Unfortuantely, I don't have my car yet to install the new filter :(
