So what's everybody doing to their Dodge this winter? Motor swap, rims, lifting it, dropping it etc? I'm just sitting here bored tonight and thought it would be cool to see what everybody else is doing or gonna do w/ their truck.

I'm gonna try and get ol' Timex (my '72) up and running again, most likely in the original 318/3-spd manual configuration. I pretty much got all the rusty body parts replaced last year(new fenders, driver's door, steel R/T hood, bed, driver's floorpan). right now i have the windshield out of it, getting it prepped and ready for a new one, along w/ a new gasket and lock strip.

well since you asked. im going to put new cylinderheads in, re-primer the whole body. drop it allitle. new rims ( bonspeed "sweep") putting 6 15" subs in the back of my truck. but i wont accomplish all of what i want to do this winter. im getting a new ride. its a mustang 5.0L that my sisters friend has im going to make an offer on it with my bro there. if i get this car, i might not fix the truck up that i have already.

YES! :rck: finally got a bellhousing for my 833 OD trans. just bought it tonight on eBay, 2nd chance offer. now i can finally put a 4-spd in ol' Timex. even if it is a OD trans. i figure if i can get a 3.91 gear it should work pretty good an still get decent milige.

the engine i plan on putting in it is a basicly stock rebuilt 318, it's an 83 5th Ave bottom end, 68 truck heads that were redone, and a 275hp 340 4-bbl cam. not sure what intake and carb i'm gonna run yet, may just run the stock single-plane 2bbl intake and carb to start with, swap to a carter AFB later on.

also got a new seat for it, cloth bucket w/ a center seat/fold-down console out of a 97 Dakota. now all i need to finish is a new oilpump, an oil pan, a winsdhield and gasket, a new.....

The R/T will be getting a new PowerTrax locker, Cal Tracs, BG computer flash, Hurst 1/4 stick shifter, and possibly some new seats.

The QC will be getting HO Cams, possibly an HO manifold, 70MM TB, and a Super Chips programmer.

I got the pioneer DEH-P4600MP head unit and a couple sets on pioneer speakers. they are all rated to 220 watts. I put the stock size 6x9s in the doors, but upped the back ones from the 5 1/4 stock size to 6 1/2.

I am looking into a deal at crutchfeild.com where they have a lightning audio amp and 2 12 inch subs for 130.00.

well, i got the engine and trans ready to go for Timex, took the oil pump out of the old 360 out of my Club Cab and put in it, and got an oilpan from the local core dealer for 25 bucks. put the flywheel on, got a clutch but no pressure plate bolts! got lost somewhere in the shuffle, have to get new ones i guess. got to get a rebuild kit for my carb and some intake gaskets, and the engine will b done, just waiting on my bellhousing to get here. hopefully i'll have the old truck running in a week or so.

well, my winter project is two-fold: First is upgrading the ole '78 Ramcharger to be a bit more sturdy (fresh 440/727/205d, dana 60 front and dana 70 rear, new Skyjackers), and after that I'm taking my '93 Cummins D250 and (...deep breath) ...grafting in a set of crew cab rear doors plus an additional set of custom 'quad-cab'style access doors (it'll have 3 doors per side), converting to a dually, converting it to 4wd, stretching the frame about 4', adding twins and a ridiculous assortment of parts made from Unobtanium...pretty much making my very own RV...I just hope the budget holds out.

dude, sounds like it'll be an awesome rig when it's done. my machine shop guy who used to work for Cotton Owens said he knew of a guy out west that used to build vehicles almost exactly like you are describing, stuff like 4-dr Ramchargers and crew cab pickups w/ a club cab added on and 8ft beds.
