On the '87 Dakota, when tearing it apart (uhh, I mean, dissasembly...) I ran into a prop. valve for the rear brakes....
Kind of an oddball for me, mounted to the rear leaf spring, cable operated. Really strange....
Now, this is a first for me, the other guys had seen it, but didn't know any more about it than I did. I'm guessing it's function is to compensate for axle windup and/or suspension angle in the rear. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Now, for the issue, can I just chuck this thing in favor of a different prop. valve that I trust. I'm not sure this sucker EVER worked, let alone still does. And I really don't want to replace or repair it, since I it seems really unnecessary to me...
