I gats to bitch, thx for listening...discovered car got keyed and bumper got scratched bad all in one day.
The key was done on the front door front piller, right above the sideview mirror...2 inches long. Dunno if insurance will cover it. If not, I bet it'll be a grand to have it done right -- looks to me like the whole freakin door would have to be sprayed. Some people evidently just can't stand a nice new car...suppose it's because they don't have one.
Whilst having gas grill at Lowe's loaded by Beavis and Butthead, they severely scratched the rear bumper...on the slope, not the flat part that the optional rubber scratch pad would cover. My wife got worried I was going to stroke-out because I turned so red and stayed that way. Gatta say though, Lowe's was stand-up about it. I filled out an insurance thangy for their insurance company and they assured me it will be covered.
Now, many years ago, things involving paint like the above would have miffed me to no end. Thankfully I have mellowed in old age and, most importantly, found the most amazing body shop you could ever imagine a long time back. I have never seen any of their work be subpar...it's always excellent, perfect utterly...and they stand behind it with an As Long as You Own It We Cover It policy. They're pricey -- a basic coupe paint job with no body work starts at 5grand -- but worth every cent. I have a vehicle they repaired 13 years ago and it's still impossible to tell it from the factory job on the rest of the vehicle...in fact, it looks better than the rest of the vehicle if anything!
The dealership still has to replace the windshield (rock chip during transport and cheesy epoxy repair just not ganna cut it). My salesman insists that if the dealership insurance won't cover it, he will pay for it himself -- he checked, it would be about 600bucks. How much did that biash make off me? Hehe. Then there is the dealership Sirus install...the trim in the rear just does not line back up worth a darn now after they pulled it to install antenna wires -- not even close, way off.
It's been a trying first month with this dawg but I still sure love the ride! Glad I didn't replace the exhaust right off as it's getting much more throaty sounding now with 1600 miles on it. I'll wait for some headers to show and do it all at once.
Heh, thx for listening...I feel better now :)
