I own a 93 350 ex cab dually cummins. My question is what do you guys recommend I do first to get a little more power but not sacrifice the mileage? I am in the process of getting the gauges hooked up first. Pyrometer, trans temp, and boost. The local diesel guy told me he could change out the fuel delivery pin for $250 dollars and give me about 40 more ponies. What all does this modification involve? Can I buy the part and do it myself? The upgrades I was thinking of are as follows but in no particular order. 4" exhaust, Lucas/delphi injectors, and fuel delivery pin. I don't do a whole lot of towing but when I do I don't want to be in the slow lane. What is everybody's opinion of what should be done first. Also, I want to get the best bang for my buck. Where can I buy a direct bolt on 4" exhaust for my truck so that I can install it myself? Thanks for everyones opinion in advance. kyle

Have you changed the exhaust housing? The factory housing is a bit large for performance useage. Can't remember the size but it is either a 21 cm or 18 cm. It is too big to spool-up quickly. Changing the exhaust housing to a 14 cm will improve driveability. You will need a non-gated housing for a direct bolt in with the present exhaust. The 2nd gens came with a 12 cm exhaust housing. This is the 1st bomb i would do.
If you want smoke and power, get the Lucas POD (prince of darkness) injectors. They are called POD for that reason. 2nd bomb
Call Piers Harry or Mark at www.piersdiesel.com about the fueling pin. I have not done that bomb but I know that I could. The pin is located in the inj pump. I've heard that the replacement pin is the way to go. 3rd bomb if 1 +2 are not enough.

I got my exhaust from Warpspeed out of AR. Also with the BOMBS you are talking about, you will need to do something about the air filter/housing to keep EGT's in check.

Hey Phil? Would you happen to know the part # on the 14cm exhaust housing. I talked to a company today and he said he would need a part # and that he would probably have it in stock. Thanks kyle,

I don't have the part # for the 14 cm housing handy but I took a look at Piers site and he has some specials that might interest you. The 16 cm housing is good too.

It is a wise man who mentioned air intake upgrades. The simplest way to go is a big honkin air filter. It will help to lower EGTs.
