Before taking my stratus to the dealer and selling body parts to get this fixed, I am hoping for some guidance. Here is the situation: My heater is no longer functioning. The blower comes on and the speed adjustment seems to work. No matter how long the thing warms up, it will not blow hot air. Last winter it became very warm.

Another issue that may be contributing is water on my passenger seat floor when it rains. Based on some of the forums, it might be leaking through the windshield. Could a leak there, be possibly shorting out the resistor? It is getting cold in Alexandria, and the drive in the morning is a bit chilly without the heater. Please help me warm up before I get stuck in the cold paying $$$$ to the dealer. (and of course, the extended warranty just expired a month ago before I needed the heater)

Thanks

interesting on that leak. I got one that comes from somewhere too only when I wash the car. I would suggest getting the hose and drenching the windo dash area from the outside and trace the water back. Mine doesnt leave puddles but a water trail.

When your car is running where does the tempature gauge sit. If it does not rise you have a bad theromostat. Pretty simple fix. It is located behind where your upper radiator hose connects to the motor. If your tempature gauge is rising to normal then you may have a plugged heater core.
