What is the average wait for a RWD R/T vs AWD R/T? I ordered my RWD R/T on 12/07/2004.
I was told 6 to 8 weeks....but no one is really certain....

I was told that as well, but I'm in week 10 now and still the schedule date. I'm only waiting 4 more weeks and then it's off to another solution.
Good luck with your order

Well that sure makes me hopeful. I ordered mine on 12/8. Was told 5-6 months by one dealer in Podunk, 3-3 1/2 by another in the LA area and the same number by an old friend of mine who is a car broker and who actually ordered the car (happily paying below list I might add :D). No VON yet. I'm a little distanced from the process because I'm not dealing direct with the Gilroy CA dealer.
January would be way cool especially since I am slowly going crazy waiting.

I feel your pain - I waited 18 long weeks before giving up and hitting dodge.com and using the advanced search with 150 miles of Altanta found a bunch of Black RWD RT's.
Three days later I drove my Brilliant Black RT to the original dealership (no names, but the initials are 'troncalli') in Cumming, and asked for my deposit back. I never got out of 'BX' status and they weren't interested in finding a car for me at ALL.
I got a more heavily optioned car for a LOT less than I expected. I recommend giving it a try.

Hello everyone!
Just an FYI:
I ordered my Magnum RT (RWD) on 12/07/04 and my dealer in Holland, MI called me today and said that the car is completed at the factory! It is now just waiting to be shipped...delivery date is unpredictable.
I ordered it in early December so that I would have it by February. It appears that the Canadians are working hard in Brampton!
Now that I know the car is assembled I can hardly wait to drive it.
I will try to get pictures up when I have it here.
It is a Magnum RT, Bright Metallic Silver with light slate-gray interior, Sunroof, Electronics/Comfort/Convenience Group, DVD/Nav package, and Safety/Protection Package.
I expected to wait a lot longer!
Happy Holidays to all!

Ordered it 2 weeks ago. Called DC to see when it would be scheduled. The guy told me it was on "parts hold", that all AWDs had been "allocated through Jan", and don't even bother to call back "until February".

The dealer turned in my order on 11/22/04 but told me due to the plant closing for two weeks during the holidays, I should not expect to see my RWD RT (ordered with every option) before the end of February. Since the dealer is a relatively small one about 50 miles from my house (I live in Mobile, AL), I don't think his allocation of Magnums is that high. But I got the car for slightly less than dealer's invoice! I am just hoping it won't go into March! The more I see Magnums on the road, the more I want mine!

If you bought this car from a small dealer you are going to wait a long time. I tried to buy one from the dealer a mile from my house. I've been doing business with them for about four years. I wanted AWD RT they told me to go to one of the big dealers. The salesman said we actually want you to get the car, and bring it by as soon as you get it so we can check it out. Since then I've heard they have to buy a certain number of six cyclinders to get one RT. A couple of the larger dealers offered good prices to order. I paid $100 under invoice and all of them told me it would be a five month wait. I ordered at the end of november and to my surprise, the dealer emailed me a couple of days ago and said it would be in before end of Jan. When I was talking with different dealers it seemed the six cyclinders had been selling very poorly. They all seemed very motivated to sell these under the invoice.

The dealer I ordered my car from is, comparatively speaking, a smaller dealer. But he is located in a community where the sales tax is a whopping 1.5% lower than the dealer about 2 miles from my house. So I saved $500 in sales tax alone! I ordered it because I wanted all the options (my 50th birthday present to myself) and couldn't find one anywhere near me fully equipped. My birthday isn't til May so if it takes longer, that won't be so bad. I would just like to get it as soon as possible to begin enjoying what all you other Magnum RT owners keep talking about! What an awesome car!

It IS worth the wait, this is the coolest car I've ever owned, and the most powerful (except maybe the little 89 S-10 drag truck I had for a while).
I gave them 18 weeks and then went shopping thru dodge.com - 110 miles is nothing to one of these cars and it was a very sweet ride home - I KNOW I broke it in well :-)

Ordered 12/2, got it this morning. Red RT. Was very hard to keep from
standing on it. Have always been one of those that gets a new car and
doing what the manual says about break in period. 500 miles and then
we go for it.
