I got a P1763 code on my 99 V6 with a 42RE. I replaced the Gov. Pressure Solenoid, Pressure Sensor, Filter, and Adjusted the bands. I cleared the code and during the test drive the light came back on. I thought it might be a stored left over so I cleared it again. It came back.
When I first took it out it seemed to be shifting better but now it is back to not shifting into 3rd until the RPM is over 4K.
Any ideas on what to look at next? :help:

Some more info that I found out.
If I keep the revs down the problem will not happen. If I get into the gas and run it through the gears it shifts fine once. The code usually appears soon after this and then the shift to third problem shows up.

Only a guess but you could try the speed sensor, located on driver side tailshaft of the tranny. May not be your problem, but its easy to do & the part is cheap??

Thanks I'll give it a try. It is cheaper than a rebuild so worth a shot. I wish my wife could drive a stick. The only other option is develop ESP and trade our vehicles in just before the Auto Trans goes bad.
