OK, its time for a full tune-up, I`ve been reading posts here for a while and it seems that I want a brass cap and rotor from Napa, MSD wires-8.5mm, I found a hotter coil-42,000volts in my Jegs catalog, couldnt find an msd one for my dodge.

My main question is the spark plugs. I`ve seen guys here say that autolite 3923`s are the best, but when I went to the autolite site, they said my van called for 3924. What do you guys think? Whats the differance with those 2 plugs? Its a 93 b250 van 5.2 magnum engine. Ive always used splitfires and have had no problem at all.

Anybody know the exact part number for the wires, the jegs cat said 73 and up, then 94-97. Isnt a 93 eng the same as a 94 engine? Is my cap an HEI style cap?

Thanks for your help.

I've always been partial to Bosch platnium plugs, but everyone has their favorite. If you like Splitfire, then keep using them.

The MSD coil for the Magnum is p/n 8228 and MSD wires p/n 31309 (Red). These are available through Summitt Racing. Your cap is HEI style with the female connectors.

Here's a pic of the MSD coil:

Thankyou very much. But I need you to confirm somthing for me if you dont mind. I went to the MSD website, If I have an HEI cap then my wire number would be 32749-red. The wires you mention are for a regular cap.

My engine cover hasnt been off in over a year, I guess the best thing to do would be pull if off before I order and see what cap is on there. I dont remember it being an HEI.

Thanks again for all your help.

That part no. is for wires when using an MSD distributor. The number I gave may be wrong as well. If you have the HEI style distributor cap (male studs, not female like I said before) then it looks like your wires should be part no. 32183 or 32189.

Like you said, pull the engine cover and verify your coil type and distributor cap type.
