Hi all, 1st post.
I'm about to order a new company car and our only two choices are Chevy Impala or Dodge Magnum. (as if thats a hard decision). The only say-so I have is choice of 3 colors and we can not pick options or trim level. It will be a SE, 2.7L with ABS.
My question is this: I've read that there are no performance chips available for the Hemis but is there anything available fot the 2.7L? I know that motor has been out awhile because my 2001 Stratus Company car had it so I though maybe something had already been developed. Any pointers appreciated. :D

Sorry but nothing available and probably won't be. I know of no company developing any performance products at this time and have heard of no plans to in the future. Any one else heard differently?

All the electronics in the Magnums are new and different from the other lines. One thought about getting a Magnum w/ t he 2.7L is it's possible COLLECTOR value in a few years. I have heard that the 2.7 will be dropped after this production year and the 3.5L will be the base engine beginning with the 06 model year. Just a thought. Buy one now, store it for about 20 years, then, who knows what it would be worth.

I seriously doubt the 2.7L will have more of a collectable value at any point. I can't think of any example of past cars where the weaker powered car is more collectible than the greater powered model.
Oh well. The 190 hp should be fine and for a fee car, I can't complain. Since I won't actually own it, I'll limit my mods to window tint and XM radio and maybe a few other really cheap things that the company wont notice or care about.
