I long for lowering the drivers seat a bit. I haven't checked closely to see if there is any room to go down some but I was thinking it should be easy enough to cut the mounts off, cut out the desired drop length and then weld the mounts back on...given there is room available to drop. It would be a good days work but I don't like my knees bent so much...feel like I'm riding in a truck. I want my legs pointed a bit more straight out dambit!
What do ya'll think...I'de love to be able to sit about an inch lower. Am I nuts? I'm too use to the low-slung Lincoln LS I use to own I suppose, feh.

I have a power seat, and I don't think mine goes low enough either, but I am worried that if it gets any lower, it will be harder to see out the back window. :evillaugh

Damn guys! What do you want to do, sit in the floor?? LOL, just kidding!! In mine, my knees are hardly bent at all, nearly straight but I'm only 5'10" if that matters. Try adjusting the tilt angle of the seat some like drop the front of the seat cushion down and see if that helps any 'cause I'm nearly in the floor with mine already. Maybe there is something wrong with your seat?? Drop your seat all the way down, both front and rear and then measure from the top of the front of the seat to the floor pan, right beside the floor mat. I have 10" from the seat to the floor. Is your's the same??

Mine goes pretty damn low....and I'm a 6'8" dude. I fit nice and cozy in my seat with no issues at all....

Maybe you guys are confusing sitting low, with sitting far back. It doesn't matter if knees are bent or outstreched. I can put my seat so far back, that my feet don't reach the pedals, but that does not lower my butt to the floor. When you say "drop the seat down", am I missing something? I have 2 electric buttons , one tilts the seat back and forward at top basically, the other slides seat front to back on a rail. That seems to be the closest I get to going any lower. Maybe I am missing something. :SPIN:

Yeah, I think you are Bill. THere are two levers, one is sorta vertical the other horizontal. The horizontal one, or parallel to the ground, if you push the front of it down, it lowers the front of the seat, and if you push the back of it down, it lowers the back of the seat. Just grab and push the whole thing down and the seat begins to sink. With mine, I can get it down to where my knees are at about 20 degree angle to horizontal and can raise it up to where my head nearly hits the roof!! Hope this helps some!

Yes, I did all that. Mine does go down and back, but I just don't feel it is all that low in the car. When it is at the bottom most setting, the high inner edge of my seat is almost level with the part of the console where the shifter gear numbers are. Is that about where yours sits? Thanks, Bill

Man I would like a better shot of your phone installation....I have a Nokia set that I want to put in but can't make up my mind where to position the cradle.

I'll get one for yuo later but just an FYI, the cradle I have is phone specific and I don't know if they have them for ALL Nokia phones. Plus, the car mount came as part of a hands-free kit that includes amplified speaker and integrated charger. Found it on Ebay of all places (go figure, I mean hell, it IS the largest marketplace in the world now!). I'll get a couple of pics today for you and post them here later.

ok, great!
I have a nokia car kit....I might have to manufacture a bracket for the magnum.
I suppose, since the fuse panel is in the trunk, i;m gonna have to run a wire from back there to the module to power it....unless there's something up under the dash I can tap into....

That's the one cool (sorta) thing about the hands-free kit for my Nokia, it just plugs into the cigarette lighter receiver and provides power for both the phone and speaker. A true all-in-one unit and only cost $25.00 for it AND the mount! What model phone do you have and I will see if it will work or if there is a mount like mine available for yours. Be glad ot help.
