I have read all of the negative comments on the 2.7L engines in the Intrepids. Mine intrepid is a 2001 with about 77K (purchased in Feb of this year with 50K). I have had no problems with the drive-train thusfar. So...for those of us that are happy with the color of our oil (i.e. no sludge seen so far) are there any upgrades that are available to these engines?

I appreciate the feedback.

Sincerely,
Michael D.

The only thing I have heard others say to do is to replace it when it blows with a 3.2. I like you have had ZERO issues with mine and no grunge building up on the insides. I intend to stay with synthetic oil and to change it often and use good name brands, not some of that brand "X" stuff on T.V.. I also recomend the use of the MOPAR filter just to cover ones butt.
