RAM MAN

some of you know me already, but just to get things started, here's what I have - tell me what you are driving and what mods you have made already !

I rebuilt my first car (68 Mustang) in 1974 - been customizing Trucks since 1979: mostly Fords until I bought my first Dodge truck.

I have a 98 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab that I have done the following to already: Ram Air Box, bedliner, 50W Halogen back up lights, RAM "Sport" grill (painted same color as the truck), Alum billet 3rd brake light cover that says "RAM", VTECH RAM tail light covers, VTECH front marker masks, Sport mirrors, Rear anti-sway (HELLWIG) bar, 2" dropped (Chassis Tech") shackles and a TRENZ stainless steel dash kit and a 180 degree thermo. Also added Kenne Bell power pullies. Run MOPAR Hi Performance wires, NGK plugs and use Royal Purple synthetic in everything I can pour it in. Installed a Keystone rear roll pan with dual exhaust cutouts and Gibson stainless steel "Cuda style" exhaust tips. Installed Dual split straight out the rear MAGNAFLOW cat back exhaust, a custom 2 1/2" "Y" pipe, and a MAGNAFLOW performance Cat. Installed a "QuickD" throttle body and MOPAR Hi performance computer. Added the MOPAR hard tonneau cover and the MOPAR lockable underseat storage, Trango Stage II Shift kit, Dana Posi and 4.10 gears.

Reflexxion steel Cowl Induction hood and a Race Truck Trends front bumper with 7" driving lights SHOULD be going on in Feb.

After that, maybe some Cragar "S/S" wheels, Kammer camshaft, and possibly the dual racing stripe treatment.

OK - who is next ?

RedDak

I bought my 2000 Flame Red Dodge Dakota Clubcab 4.7 Sport lst December 2000.. aka Project RedDak.

I then added a black and red custom leather interior kit, a hard bedliner, gibson aluminized dual ehaust with 3.5 inch stainless tips. I painted the 2 door handels and the tailgate handel to match, then painted the black strips above the clubcab and the front bumper to match too.

Next came a Sir Michaels steel rollpan, a set a 17x9 R/T rims with 255/55/17 Eagle RSA's which were soon changed to Toyo proxes S/T 255/60/17 tires.

I also added some APC clear front corners.

Then came a full R/T suspension, front springs, rea leaft, sways etc. (got it free).

Mopar hard tonneau covr was added.

The hard liner (dont ever use one) was thrown away and after a repainting of the bed a BedRug was installed (beautiful)

Powerslot rotors came next.

SpeedTweaks IAT adjuster was then added (awsome).

Then I got bored with my interior and did a 100% top grain leather with perforated suede centers, a rams head logo with shield stitched in the head rest. Piping was also done to finish it off. I custom piped and padded out my rear side and back panels by 1" and then covered my center console lid with perforated suede to match.

Coming soon very soon!!!
Complete before March 1st

GTS style hood with complete RamAir system
70mm custom made F&B throttle body
GTS style rollpan with mathing MBRP GTS exhaust
20" R/T chrome rims
295/40/20 Dunlop Sp Sport 9000 tires
Chrome "dakota 4.7 GTS" emblems will be installed
Street Scene front bumper cover
Street Scene chrome Speed grills
Replacement headliner in dark slate.
Stereo(mtx thunderform, any other suggestions)
A custom paint job is also being looked into currently.
Chrome Euro tailights.

The decision between a supercharger and turbo system is also being looked into.

I started out driving a '77 Chevy Silverado with a 355 roller motor. It was pretty fast, well, for a 16-year old at least. I think it ran 9.2 in the 1/8th, and it was a longbed to boot.

Next car was an '80 Trans Am. It had a 455 bored to 468 and ran awesome. It ran 12.6 in the quarter.

http://users.conwaycorp.net/tcador/ta1.jpg

http://users.conwaycorp.net/tcador/ta_engine.jpg

Next car (age 18 now :)) was a '92 mustang GT. I replaced basically everything (engine, all bolt-ons, suspension). I really really really loved that car and plan to get another as soon as i'm out of school. It ran 12.8 in the 1/4 on drag radials.

http://users.conwaycorp.net/tcador/mustang/car2.jpg

So now i have my '00 R/T. really like this truck, but not impressed with the gas mileage or stock performance. Haven't ran it at the track since my new mods, but hopefully i'm in the low 9's now (being pretty optimistic). I need headers :)

Everything in the sig....'cept for a few "in the works" things I'll keep secret for now ;-)

Just rolled over 10,000 miles and the truck is almost a year old. This is my second 01' silver RC R/T, the first was totaled after it tried to push over a highway support beam. :SHK:

I have a 97 SS/T, it's my first Ram.
It has the Mopar Performance Cold Air Intake (GenII); MP Deep Trans Pan; MP Valve Covers; IAT Adjuster; Accel Cap & Rotor; Taylor Wires; Autolite Plugs; ARE Tonneau Cover; Autometer Triple Gauge A Pillar Pod w/A/F ratio, Fuel Pressure & Trans Temp; Alpine CDA-D855
That's all I can think of now but I'm sure I'm missing something.

Hi guys, I made it here too. Thanks to Ron for helping me, as I had problems registerring.
I currently have 3 (driveable) Mopars. My Ram is my daily driver and my Charger is my summer toy. My Mirada was my toy before I bought the Charger and I plan to bring it back out of hibernation this summer (Mirada's been in storage for about 3 years).

kirkyg,
For what it is worth, several people including myself had used the "it's in the sig" line prior to you. But there aren't any © on that, so you are free to use it as well.:D

Welcome to the site. Although I know things didn't go real well the last couple of weeks over "there", I hope you find a nice home here. Time for a fresh start. Some faces (screennames) I am sure you are familiar with, others are new.

Enjoy!!!!!

KJRich

I bought it blown up for $275 with a nice body. We built a 318 to mostly stock specs, except for .030 overbore, mild headwork, factory 4 bbl intake and a 1968 340 cam. We threw the leanburn system away and went with a Mopar Performance electronic ignition conversion. Finished it off with 2.25" true duals and glass pack mufflers, and I moved the gas tank over to the right by one groove for the drivers side tailpipe to clear.
Everything works, including power windows and A/C. The car runs good. Of course it's not running fast like 12's or 13's, but I like to say "NOT STOCK" because the car originally had 130 horsepower out of the 318 for 1983, and it has a little more than that now!
J-Body (also the designation of the Mirada bodystyle), who posts on ********* and Moparts has a white Mirada that is running like 10's or 11's. He has a Ram also.

I have a 96 Ram 4x4 Sport with the 5.9 and 3:55's. I bought the truck as a repo and it was pretty rough. I've been fixing it up as I go. I drive the truck daily in the winter. So far I've added a Lund visor, Stylin Concepts smooth bumper with frenched fog lights, tinted the windows, Polished 5-spoke 8" wheels with 33" BFG All Terrain TA's, K&N 14" open element air filter, Mopar Performance computor, Mopar Performance headers, Gibson 3" exhaust w/ no cat, Posi Lock for the 4wd, and a pumping stereo with hidden amp. The performance upgrades have really helped, especially for towing. In the summer months I tow a 69 Super Bee (my daily summer driver) to the drags (12:18 @ 113mph). The car and trailer weigh about 5500lbs and the truck has no problems, even on steep passes. Round trip to Spokane WA is about 480 miles and I usually get 10-11mpg towing and 12-14 empty. I'm still surprised at how well it tows considering the tall gear ratio and 33" tires. It pulls the same mph as my old truck(66 Dodge 3/4 ton) on the passes and it had a 383 w/ many extras and 4:10 gears.

I have a primer gray 1979 Stepside with a 318 and a Carter competition carb, a 727 tranny, 3.21 rear end and a wooden (rotting out) bed. I bought it recently and while I would not say I am into restoration, I do want to fix it up. The guy I bought if from handed me the emblems and this leads to an area I could use some help on. The emblems say its a C100 but the tag inside the door shows it as a D10. I am not well versed on the different designations so if anyone has a source they can point me at I would greatly appreciate it. Something to explain the difference between D100, W100 or Ulitine (whatever that is and however its spelled).

dodge_em
03-11-2002, 08:39 AM
Welcome to the board. I don't have any idea what a C100 would be. The "D" desingation if for 2WD and the "W" is for 4WD. ½ ton trucks are "100", ¾ ton trucks are "200" etc. I have a W150 that is actually classified as a "heavy half ton". The wooden part in the bed is not hard to re-do, but is farily expensive. I totally rebuilt the wood part of my bed. Hope this helps.
