I've heard from various reviews about some traction losses because of the FWD with high torque. Is it true that you lose a lot of traction if you put it near full throttle at launch, and if so, is it easy/hard to control the car?

I'll put it this way, there is no traction, especially if you have a wga. Just let er spin, the key is to keep boost up, so in order to do that, you have to keep your foot to the floor, which WILL cause you to spin in 1st gear, especially on the street.

you shouldn't be launching at anywhere near full throttle. if you're running street tires, you should be launching at about 1800-2200rpm. slicks and dr's can launch higher, but not so much so. i run dr's and launch at about 2600, and i can keep traction just fine. many of the big turbo cars that run dr's and slicks launch at about 3500 to get faster spool at the line.
if you launch at full throttle then not only will you get wheel spin but you will also get wheel hop and you can say goodbye to your axles. this isn't an awd car, you can't just stomp on it and go. launching this car takes practice and a lot of trial and error to see what works best for your set up.

Yeah what I meant was launching at around 3k RPM and then after the launch hitting it full throttle. I should have been more clear.

YIKES.......... I launch at idle. I won't even touch the gas till I am about to launch, than I roll into it pretty hard. When I do that I am still getting some major tire spin and occasional hop throughout first and a scratch or more in second. I have yet to take it to the track, so I may be able to launch it at a higher rpm if they groom well. But as far as the street goes.......The traction just isn't there to really get on it. Hell, even in a first gear roll and You floor it they will spin through first. It is expected out of a fwd.
