Just got off the phone with the shop and they have a SXT coming into the shop tomorrow to build the first CAI for the 3.5L V6 in the Magnums!! I am trying to get a group discount for us so if there are any interested parties, let me know so I can work it with my contact there at 360. They plan on making two different versions, one that will just go through the hole in the fender where the factory air silencer is which will require the removal of the air silencer, and another that will just hook directly up to the air silencer tube coming up through the fender well. I should have pricing for both of these sometime either Friday or Saturday and will post this ASAP. For those interested, there should also be a performance chip available for the 3.5 V6 sometime in the next 4 - 5 weeks. It has already been tested, passed certification by the DOT, and is in final stages prior to commercial release. I'll let everyone know when they are available since I will be getting the first one for beta testing sometime in the next week or two. GO MAGNUM!!

Ive got a buddy at work whos been looking for mods for his 3.5L V6 Magnum and ive been helping him look but no luck. Im glad to hear that 360 AirIntakez is coming out with a CAI for this engine. This will make him happy. Who is producing the performance chip? Please update us on the price of both of these and when they will be available to be ordered so I can pass on the info. Thanks

I'll pass it along ASAP. Pricing on the CAI should be available after the guys get back from their next show, sometime around the 30th. I'll be able to release the info on the chip either Monday or Tuesday once I talk to them again about tentative test date and commercial production schedule. Don't want to count the chicks before the eggs even get laid!! Later!!

Well, the CAI is completed and will be shipped to me on Monday. Once I get it installed, I'll post some pics of it so everyone can see what it looks like. I wll also be doing some dyno runs before/after to see what, if any, gains there are. Tentative release date will be November 29, estimated cost will be $215.00 + $15.00 s/h, total $230.00 unless there are any other production problems that come up. I'll keep the updates coming on this and other performance items in the works for the V6.

Later!!

Thanks for the update. I cant wait to see some pics of it and see the dyno results so I can tell my buddy. I think I know what will be on his christmas list lol. 230 is not bad at all for it shipped to your door. Lets just hope that theres no delays.

Shouldn't be any delays. They have it in their powder coating shop right now finishing it up and it will be shipped Monday morning and unless USPS loses it, I should have it Wednesday afternoon. Once I get it, I plan on scheduling my Dyno test on Friday. Plan is to do a run with the stock box, replace it with the new CAI, then do the final two runs to get a good before/after test. I know on the Hemi, there was over 10HP gained and 10 ft/lbs torque. Since I've already done some other mods to my car, there may be some differences over a truly stock SXT, but the increase should still be indicative of what everyone else should expect. I'll post pics of the CAI as soon as I receive it so you can have an idea what it look like. One thing to remember as well, 360 Airintakez does custom powder coating so you can get it just about any color you want, plus they do flames, other designs, just about anything you want. The single color coating is included in the price, other stuff would be extra. Watch for the pics sometime either Thursday or Friday.

As promised. Pics of the new intake (keep in mind this is a prototype with some modifications still to be done to assure proper fit and function on the production models). I have inluded a shot of my Magnum with the Eibachs installed. Didn't change the ride charateristics noticeably when on normal streets, but quite a bit stiffer when on a bumpy/rough road. Handling is MUCH improved. Less roll and flater feel in the curves. Now to try to install the rear antisway bar from an RT on the SXT. Wish me luck!!

Anymore updates on the intake or the chip? I told my fellow employee the other night about them finally and all he pretty much said was "thanks" and "SCHWEEEEEEEET". I told him to check 360z site but I checked and theres nothing up yet. Any info would be greatfully appreciated since you have an insider.

Thanks and Happy Holidays
John

Well, ran in to a couple of problems but pretty well resolved now. Just doesn't look like it will make it for Christmas since it's just a coupla days away. Should have dyno results and pics of final product sometime right after New Year's. Performance chip is coming from Hypertech and is currently waiting for CARB certification prior to release. Possibilities of a supercharger for the 3.5L sometime in February or March but still in planning stages and market analysis right now.

are your headlights tinted, sikpuppy?
if so, lay some details on me.

I think that might just be the way the SXT headlights look.....mine looks the same as well....and have been asked that same question. I had no idea you could actually do that.

That's right Blackcomb. That's the big giveaway from the front that it is either an SXT or RT, plus the grille difference. Black vs chrome on the RT. Hey check out my new flame job!
