Hey Guys,

I have an '87 Ram 150. I'm desperately trying to find a new rear end, tailgate, drivers & passenger side doors to replace what I have on my truck now. It's too full of cancer and no amount of bondo will cure it. could anyone direct me to somewhere I can look to find these parts? I am in the New Jersey area. Thank you all very much for the help.

Thanks for the quick responce RAM MAN. I appreciate the offer of assistance. I'll look for that publication tomorrow. I'm looking for the following:

-Tailgate
-Drivers side door
-Passenger side door
-rear left fender
-rear right fender
-complete bed (8ft bed)

Thanks again for your offer of help. I do appreciate it. I'm really looking forward to restoring my baby to her former glory. Once I get those body parts, that will take care of all the cancer and I'll be able to get it painted.

I do plan on posting before after pics :) I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow when once it is daylight out again.

Oh, and I wouldn't even mind if you were affiliated with a dealer. I know where to get parts for a '76 Trans Am, but I'm striking out so far for my '87 Ram... so your help is greatly appreciated.

this guy claims he has "some" parts for 80's Dodge Trucks
email him at: finsrin60@AOL.com

these guys have rust free parts, but shipping from Arizona may be hefty:
tarasprings@mindspring.com

Autobody Specialists INC have body parts from 1950-present
www.autobodyspecialt.com (http://www.autobodyspecialt.com)
they are out of CT - toll free call: 888.277.1960

these guys have some old Mopar fenders etc - its worth an email to find out
www.carsinc.com (http://www.carsinc.com) or 800.cars.inc

just for FYI

I have been told that you can use body parts from 79 - 87 pretty much interchangeably

I have a few salvage yards here in Texas that have some good stuff, tailgates are hard to come by here though. I am looking for a good one myself. But fenders and doors can be found. A bed in good shape isn't that comon here as far as the floor. I am going out this weekend, want some pics?

Well, went out and took some pics of the Ram 150 today. I'm starting the restoration as soon as the parts get here. Thanks RAM MAN for all the assistance in locating parts.

It's a gift for my dad. He used to own the truck before passing it along to me. The last 5 years or so it's been a beater work truck.. So, I'm going to restore it and then some to give to him as a b-day present. Hope it works out. I'll keep this thread up to date with any details on the resto.

Your local U-Wrench-It or standard junkyard is a great place to start. I can't tell you how many 1st gen Rams/Ramchargers I've found and some with very good parts on them. I've seen many a good door on these trucks with no rust. It's hit or miss but if you go to several of these places you'll get just what you need. I did. I've gotten weatherstripping, seats, door sills, window glass, and they were in good shape. Much better than what I had. I've passed up a lot of rear ends, complete doors, tailgate, etc. just because I didn't need them. Prices are right too.

PS: I do know of a good tailgate from a 90-93 truck here in Ohio. It's red with the DODGE RAM in red paint or decals. The rest of the truck is total junk but the tailgate looked good. If they haven't crushed the truck yet ...

There is a large yard in Texas called "Texas Acres" They sell sheet metal and other parts. I know they handle muscle Mopar, but not sure if they do late model stuff.

When you say rear end, is it the rear axle assembly you are after?

I'm in Southern Ontario, Canada.
I have an 8 1/4 with 2.76 open diff.
From my 87 Ram D100 2wd.
Price $0.00.

Sorry, but what I meant by rear end was all the body work on the rear portion of the truck. I'll use the proper terms next time. I don't think that rear end you have would work since my truck is a 4x4

another person said for the doors, stay 1981 to 1993 the only differnence in these doors were an exterior moulding on bottoms of the doors and and the location of the speaker hole on the inside of the door.
I think from 1972 to 1980 the body styles were the same.(box, doors, cab)
differences between the the 1987 door and the 1979 door, the newer door has an extra body line high in the door as well as the striker bolt on the cab is located higher as well as the latch in the door.

Whats the latest with your truck ?

finding any parts ?
