I had to take a trip in the Magnum this weekend of about 1000 miles round trip (yeah I know it is a tough job but someone has to do it). Anyway, I am cruising along about 80 mph check the gas mileage and I am very happy as the car is getting around 21.5 mpg. About 250 miles into the trip I notice that the air bag light is on. Not the passenger airbag but the general air bag light. I wondered what it could be, I needed a break anyway so I pulled into a parking lot and switched the car off. I knew that I was getting near 150 hours so I checked the time and YUP sure enough it was exactly 150 hours. Went in and took a break. Came back out started the car and no air bag light. Interesting. Started cruising down the road and after about an hour I checked the mileage again. 23.4 at 80 mph!!!!! HUH!?!?! Thought it might just be a fluke so I monitored it for the rest of the trip. It stayed in the 23 range for the rest of the trip including the return trip today! Could it be??? The car doesn't feel like it has any additional power but the mileage change cannot be denied. I will run some tests over the next few days to see if there is any change in the 0-60 times.

The car exhaust has always had a smell to it that made me think it was running a bit rich. Now that smell is gone. It is almost as though it has switched to another fuel map. Anyway, I thought you guys might find this interesting.

Also, the airbag light never came back on. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm.

The legend of the 150 hour change lives on!!

The legend of the 150 hour change lives on!!

I checked my hours with my trip meter. It reads 196 hours with 4662 miles. My gas mileage has always been pretty poor and lately it has been the worst ever. I hardly ever get any better per tank than just under 15mpg, and that includes a mix of highway and local driving. On long trips I only get about 17-19. Nothing seems to have changed for the better at 150 hours. I hope it is 7000 miles instead.

Deco...I find it interesting you went with XM instead of Sirius? Any reasons as to why...you think it's better etc? Just curious! :D

my passenger air bag light goes on n off sometimes like it has a short in it.
I got to thinkin maybe it's cuz I put my briefcase in that seat and it thinks it's an underweight child.
I guess I'll find out after I break it in.

When I set my CD case for work or the baby's bag on the seat it did the same thing. Started laying it on the floor and hasn't come on since.

You guys are exactly right about the passenger airbag light. Check out the blurb on it in the manual and it describes what you have experienced.

They look tinted.
I havn't been able to find headlight covers for the magnum yet.

im finding it's a pretty smart car.
I don't much dig the auto dim in the rearview mirror but I must admit I am mezmerized by it.
I keep finding new stuff that it does.
pretty fun stage... the discover part of the new ride.

Yes, this is one of the coolest features I've seen so far (besides the HEMI). I am actually about to go and have it recalibrated. It keeps activating the airbag when my 7yr old is up front.

How am I supposed to explain torque to my kid if he is way back in the back seat? ;)

ya floor it and explain why his melon bounced off the back of the seat.
I have 3 kids and only two wireless headsets for the LCD screens in the headrests.
That'll have to be my first addition fer sure.
As it is, I crank the volume in both sets and have hold em so they can all 3 hear.
