I have a 94 grand voyager that makes a kind of a rubbing/creaking sound that is most noticable when I am turning a corner or backing down and out of our driveway. A while ago I had the struts replaced but cannot be certain when this noise actually started because my wife drives the vehicle the most. Also I have noticed this sound when I just get in the van or sway from side to side in the seat. I can also lift up lightly on the driver's side wheel well and get the same thing for a while then it goes away. Any idea's? This is my first attemt attempt on a forum, so please bear with me.

It's possible that the strut bearing plates weren't replaced. These mount on the top of the strut assembly so the struts can turn as you turn the wheel. When these wear out they tend to get a little noisey.

Thanks for the heads-up. I had them changed at our Firestone store, so I will ask. I called a dealer in our area(50 miles away) and the person that answered the "service" phone indicated it might be a sway bar bushing. Do you think that is another possibility or not? It is not really a sqeaking noise. Thanks again!

My bet is on bushings. Kind of a hollow klunk noise? Mostly heard on slow bumps?

Also check to make sure that the tires aren't rubbing any splash shields when turned full to the right or left.

My first inclination is bushings as well.

Bushings usually make a creaking groaning sound whenever going over dips in the road.

Thanks for all the good tips. It turns out the new strut they put in was defective. They replaced it and the noise/problem went away. Thanks Again!!!

check the rubbers of the table.... oil them ... or grease .. had the same problem once, the rubbers were dry, after no more seaky noises.... Good luck
