straight from a DC press conference:

"The Dodge Intrepid is the car that brought Dodge back from a 22-year Winston Cup racing hiatus. Intrepid's bold stance, sleek aerodynamic design and surefooted performance set it apart in a world of look-alikes. Inside, the spacious cabin seats five or six passengers comfortably while gear fits in a full-size trunk. Intrepid's smart features include filled-for-life transaxle fluid, 100,000-mile coolant, battery-saver feature and wireless ignition. The Intrepid R/T boasts a 244-horsepower (182 kW) standard 3.5-liter high-output V-6 engine with patented driver-interactive clutchless AutoStick® shifter and standard performance-tuned suspension. Dodge Intrepid SXT models return for 2003 and are loaded with features."

Any chance that the Intrepid will return to the original version? I have one of each and avoid driving the new one. Can't turn your head without hitting the b pillar and the trunk opening is a joke.:bawl:

actually - I heard several rumors (for what ever thats worth) that if they ever get around to producing the Charger concept, it will be based of - what a 2 door Interpid would be .....

like I said - rumor control only --- take it for what ever its worth ...

I hope they make the new Intrepids with rwd in 04. They will be so much stronger and badass. Also I hope that if they do not come out with the Charger concept that they put the 6.1L HEMI in the an R/T version of the Trep. Or maybe the Charger concept will come out as a top of the line Intrepid, the Intrepid-Charger???? That could be good, but we need a nice fat V8 under the hood of these new Intrepids.

Intrepids aren't too bad. just don't get one with the 2.7 not big enough for the car.

what are you talkin bout SNATCHERCHIEF30??
6.1L HEMI??Isnt it a 5.7L?

Yes it is a 5.7L HEMI at the moment. According to rumors from MOPAR Action Mag where they took a look at the Charger Concept as well as the new 5.7L HEMI and showed its specs (August 2002), the model of the HEMI that might get put into a car will be a 6.1L HEMI. Also the mag gave rumors of the next generation of LH cars to be RWD.

This is the last year for the Intrepid (actually all of the LH bodies). Next year will be out as the LX body and it will be a RWD and it will have the HEMI in it. You will the hemi in just about every product line that DC has.

Nice ZS toy, where did you find this info and if online, please post link. I have heard nothing about the discontinuation of the LH cars though. I have heard that the LH cars might become RWD and that the new Charger might be based as a two door LH car (all rumor though).

I have seen it online somewhere, but not positive.

I will say that I also heard it from DC in Vegas during the SEMA show at the national Dealers meeting. I would have to say that I trust them much more than I do anything that I see online.

ZS, do you work at a dealer or just get all your info online?

I work for a dealer here in Wichita, KS. I was at the SEMA show earlier this month and that is the same time they have the national dealers meeting.
