"Chrysler Recalls Minivans
DaimlerChrysler's American arm said on Monday that it would recall about 240,000 minivans because of a problem with the vehicles' radios. The problem, an electrical short caused by water leaking into the radios, has resulted in nine reported fires in the speakers of the affected vehicles. Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans from the 2001-2002 model years are affected; repairs will be completed for free. Chrysler also is recalling about 11,100 Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Stratus vehicles from the 2005 model year because the seatbelts in the rear are not fastened properly. Dealers will tighten the bolts that fasten the left and right rear passenger safety belts to the car's structure."
