I saw a clear taillight set on ebay a couple weeks ago! For the 94-03 vans. They looked pretty sweet and definetely unique. I will post the link when I get home tonight.

I would like to add a brushed aluminum kit to the dash and cupholder area.

Also want to add a tranny temp gauge, extra tranny cooler and maybe a transgo shift kit. Maybe a mild cam or M1 (intake fix), later on down the road.

I would also like to buy some Centerline HT Vector chrome wheels in the 16x8 inch size...

Plan to get sylvania silverstars as well.

If you go to the links section on www.vannin.com , there are a number of web sites where you can find parts to customize your van. One link, (I believe it's called "Fiberglass Accessories") offers a wide variety of custom parts like flairs, wiper cowls, spoilers, etc. And a visor made for vans with raised roofs!! That link to his site is down right now. He's trying to build a better one. His phone # is: 203-776-1341. I've bought my flairs, spoiler, wiper cowl, and one of those visors from him.

I've been looking for a Brush/Grill Guard for the front of the Flyin' Brick for over a year now.

I know somebody makes them, I remember seeing them on Dodge vans before.
JC Whitney had them before I got my van but they don't carry them anymore.

I used to own a custom van shop in the early 80's and when I closed up in the late 80's I brought everything home and threw it up in the attic in my garage. I know I have some flares and spoilers and maybe a couple of sunvisors and chrome vent shades up there that I will be digging out this spring when I finally clean up the attic. I will post what I have left when I get it catalogued

Thanks Dodgevanman. Bought it new in '92 and keep improving it every year.

Hey Ram3500dually, that would be awesome if you could post what you have. Could you also post over on vannin.com? Vanners are always looking for parts. Aftermarket manufacturers have ignored us since the middle 80's. I don't think you'd have any problem emptying your attic!

I was heavily into the vanning movement from 1975 till the early 90's. I attended over 200 truckins including 14 straight nationals. I was president of two different clubs. I was one of the first to use power door lock solenoids to shave door handles and also one of the first to chop a roof on a van. Here is some shots of my 1977 Dodge when it was 5 weeks old and I had just pulled it out of the shop. I had the very first minivan on the show circuit in 1984.
Man I miss those days, LOL. 3000 crazy vanners all in one place for a weekend.

Nice vans! I've been vanning since '73. My first van in was Butler in '75. Been to at least three van-ins or more every year since. alot of them Nationals. Who knows, we may have crossed paths at one. Yup, we're still going even tho we've been ignored by the media and aftermarket manufacturers since the 80's. Truckin' mag is starting to sniff around, a photog went to last year's Nats and there was some coverage in an issue. Also a few vans were shot for future issue. One of which was a wild 454 powered, chopped, tandem axled, DUALLY Chevy that was featured a while ago. Roumor has it that the photog will be there this year. I'd love to see some of the radical Dodges I know about featured. Like Hurricane's 440 powered Mid-Dodge. Remember the Nautilus, the angle chopped radical Dodge? That's being resurrected as we speak. This season looks great!!! Check out www.vannin.com for pics and info. No reason to miss out. Check out a van-in this summer! :rck:

I am actually going to Vanfest this year up here in Canada. I was also at Butler Pa. a few years. I was featured in Vans and Trucks twice with two different vans and also in Truckin magazine with my minivan. I helped build Ivan Benics Cosmic Cruiser, The original chopped Chevy with the shark teeth in the front in 1974. It is still around to this day but it has been an 8 wheeler since 1980 and now is almost 38 feet long. Ivan was the top muralist in the 70's and 80's. If something he painted showed up at a Truck-in you could almost guarentee it won Best Paint. He has done almost 100 paintings for me over the years.. The top picture is my chopped Ford, The Dobey Express, I had at a few Nationals and the bottom picture is the Cosmic Cruiser now. I also understand Howard Furtak from Midwest Vans has redone "SuperVan" and has been touring with it. I am hoping to catch up with him and alot of old vanners at Vanfest this year

Jeez Ram3500Dually, guess I was preachin' at the choir!!! LOL I've seen a few pics of your Ford before. Very slick. Ivan's web site is linked of vannin.com. What talent he has! I think Ivan is considering going to Vanfest this year. If the Supervan you're talking about is the Barris built show van, some car restoration company there in Canada did a ground up resto. Was taped for television. Possibly for the speed channel? It was at Vanfest last year and they're trying to get it there again this year before it's shipped out west. Check out the Show Vans section on vannin.com. I think Virtual Vanner reported on that.

My website is also linked off vannin.com :D Ivan is going to Vanfest with me this year if I can get his lazy ass moving. I still talk to him almost every day. I also talk to Doug (Virtual Vanner) every once in awhile in email. I went to Dutch's funeral a couple of years ago and then went back for the memorial truckin the next couple of years so I still stay in touch with a few of the old timers. If Al Brown gets down my way we usually end up hooking up somewhere and reliving old times. Those were the days.....

Hey Ram3500...do you know a guy named Brian Bowie? He and a man named Jim McCleef started the MD Van Council back in like 1975 or 1976. He's into the Dodge A-100 vans.

Brians name sounds familiar. I am sure I have met him a few times. I attended a couple of Council of Councils meetings as I was a member of the West Lake Erie Van Council and also a member of the Ontario Federation of Truckers

He and I are planning to go to the Van Nats in PA this year. We'll be leaving there and heading to Carlisle for the All-Chrysler Nats as well. Hopefully I can get my Xplorer up and about before then. If not, then I'll have to load up my B-van.

Yeah Wizard I've checked out your site before. Nice wallpaper!!!

I know Brian Bowie Dodgevanman. He's good friends with the guy that owns the Little Red Wagon wheelstander. When the van Nats were in Lebanon PA a number of years ago, a fellow club member and I checked Chryslers at Carlisle and they were there. I'm going to the Nats this year, look me up. I'll have a cold one waiting for ya!

Hi nj2pa, don't worry, everyone has to start at the beginning. Between here and vannin.com you shouldn't have any problem finding answers to questions you have.

Sounds like a plan Dodgevanman! But don't forget, there's other van-ins in the east. Lost Memorial Day Weekend in Grenwich, N.Y. (by the Vermont border), Provanity in Weedsport, N.Y., and Flamingo Fest in Nichols, N.Y. are three that I make every year. And there are many other events in the Northeast and the rest of the country. And don't forget Canada. Van Fest was a blast when I went. Who says vanning is dead?

along the same line....there is van nationals? I heard of mopar antionals, but I'd love to be part of a club. I currently have a 1962 SS Impala.. yeah it's not a mopar.. and it is so much fun to drive with other classics!

Are you going this year? I hear Kevin and Sarge are packing it in, this is the last year. I have known both those guys since they started vanning.

nj2pa, there is a van nationals every year. The location hops around. Go to www.vannin.com. There is all kinds of info on the Nats. All you need is a van or panel truck to get in the Nats, pay the fee and you're in! There's alot of smaller scale van events going on around the country (actually, the world!!) if you're interested. I can mail you some flyers if you want. E-mail me your address. My e-mail: rbundy@stny.rr.com .

Ram3500Dually, I don't think I'm going. I've got so much going on this year, and I really want to make the runs I've mentioned in New York, the Nats in PA and a couple more in PA I've been going to. I heard that Kevin is calling it quits after this Van Fest, but I'm sure there will be plenty of vanners there to change his mind.

The 77 was in Vans and Trucks in 1978 or 79, I forget. The chopped Ford was in Vans and Trucks in 1982 I believe and the mini was in Vans and Trucks in 1985 and Truckin magazine in 1986. V&T shot the mini at the Nats in Mississippi and Truckin shot it the next year at the Nats in Missouri. If I am not mistaken it is the only van that appeared in both magazines without major changes.

Denim, getting real setteled, lots less boxes hanging around, took all weekend last weekend to organize my garage, and Blues Traveler is finnally back inside, had a few adjustments to do to the door.

Made it down to the Van Blessing in RI this past saturday, only stayed a few hours but it was nice to get the van season started finnally.

I plan on being at Lost Memorial Day, the Nats, the Phuckewe's, and I think there is a run on Labor day weekend up here in New England somewhere, possibly Ct. Id like to squeeze all of them in somehow. Still have to get the camper ready for the season and most importanty have to clean up the van. Havent done the yearly undercarrige cleaning and detailing that I would normally be doing this time of year, she hasnt even been waxed yet, Shes been neglected and worked hard. To much work, not enough time.

Im still very happy with the gear change and the Throttle body. No problems with either one. The gears were done at a speed shop, but I did the TB, very easy to replace, if u decide to buy one and bring it with u on a run, I will gladley install it for you.

Im sure we will see each other at lost, u should take my van for a spin, I think u would fell the differance in power from a stock van to mine now.

Ram3500, I started buying van mags back in the early 80s, and still own every one I ever bought, so I know I have your mini in one packed away someplace, and like I said, I think even the ford looks familar, there is a good chance that I have that issue as well. Im glad an older time vanner is still around and can share some memories with us. I guess u still own the mini, I see it in your signature, do u drive it or show it at all?
And I read on here somewhere that your 77 is in the back of your shop, glad to here that u still own it, maybe u can get working on it someday and bring it to an evant.

if memory serves me right, I think I got an idea from your mini when I did my interior, I have all my interior walls done on velour, with about an inch of padding behind the velour, I had an upholstery shop sew lines down all my panels about 4 inches apart, and I have them all on angles and they meet at the rear doors like a V. I think your van had simular lines in the fabric also, maybe not on and angle, but I think u had some lines sewed in them, correct? When I was doing my vans interrior I would spend hours flipping thru magizines and photo albums looking for ideaes and putting them all together and seeing how theyt all looked.

Its been cool typing at u guys, Ill ck back here tommorrow.

Ram3500Dually
05-03-2005, 05:10 AM
Your exactly right, in a way, LOL. The walls on my mini are done in velour on an angle but they aren't sewn. I took 2 inch foam and cut half way thru with an electic knife. I then tucked in the velour. It gives it the sewn look but much straighter. I am saving the mini for my daughter. She will be 16 in a year and a half. Its been parked since 1995, I uncover it and take it out of the shop and wash it each spring and fall. Here is a couple of early shots of the interior, before I put the wet bar in.
