Unfortunately, I've yet to hear anything good about the jet chips. What are they claiming for HP/TQ gains? The RAM HEMI they are showing about 18+ hp with the chip. For $310, I'd wait until Superchips or Hypertech comes out with something. Gives you some flexibility with the programming. IMO Very tempting though.

I actually care about my warranty.

Plus, I have never heard anything good about jetchips either.

the only dyno results they had was from the Ram HEMI, those are the numbers you mentioned....i've only heard bad things about JET also......more to come i guess!

I've got one of the Jet "piggyback" for my Grand Cherokee.... I was very disappointed. I didn't get any improvement inperformance at all.

Well, on a whim last night I sent e-mails to both Superchips and Hypertech to find out if there will will be programmers available for the Durango Hemi...here's the responses:

Superchips:
At the present time probably not. Not near as many of them as there are Ram Hemis. They do have their own computer system and it is not compatable with the Ram computer. Does not look good at this time.
Al

Hypertech:
yes sir. the programmer is in BETA and should be released into full production within 2 weeks.

Not sure of the performance claims as of yet, but we'll know in a few weeks!! :rck:

Hypertech is a reputable company, right? what are their gains normally on their programmers/computers?? What is "BETA"?? Some stage of testing?

Hypertech and Superchips are the two that I hear the most of and it's all been positive. I believe Superchips has a programmer for the Hemi Ram and their gains were around 21 for hp and 35 for tq. According to an article in I believe it was Popular Science, they were able to build a Hemi in the DC labs and they were all pushing aroun 400hp on the dyno and they DC rep said that the engines are tuned down for the vehicles. SO, it sounds like there is room for improvement over the 335hp that it's rated.

It was Popular Mechanics. Here's the article: http://popularmechanics.com/automotive/auto_technology/2004/7/hemi_build/

I Can Confirm The Jet Stage Ii Works. After 80-100 Miles The Ecm Resets And Uses The Jet Info. I Can Confirm A Noticable Change When Used With Intake And Exhaust. At About 115 Mph The Power Falls Out Per Ecm Program. My Dealer Says Mopar Will Have A Chip Available By Mid 05. I Assume It's The 6.1 Hemi Program.

Yes, I Think For Myself It Was Worth The Extra Boost. I Paied $250.00 For Mine, I Have A Friend At 4wheel Parts Wholesaler. Keep In Mind For The Stage Ii To Work I Was Told And Did The Extra Mods, Complete Intake And Exhaust. I Also Found Out That Hyperchip Has A Programer For The 5.7 Hemi. With The Jetchip In Place The Jet Company Said If The Ecm Were Reprogramed It Would Only Add To That? The Hyperchip Is Quite A Bit More Than The Jet And No Matter What You Do Until Mopar Has A Hp Chip The 04-05 Hemi's Power Limit Is About 115 Mph. I Know From Taking It To 115 Mph With The Eng Still Pulling Stong And All Of A Sudden My Power Drops Right Out.

rarely do you hear somebody say their jet chip worked well, usually i think its just wishful thinking. personally would not waste my money on a jet chip.

if all the JET does is add a few MPH to the top end, I'll pass....I've had my HEMI D w/ the K&N Aircharger and Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust up to around 100 no problem....i don't have the balls to go 115 or the space very often.....unsafe and very illegal....If low end or torque or something else is boosted considerably along w/ the top end count me in...
