My flowmaster system sounds A LOT throatier than that and it only cost around $340 for the whole setup!!....to each their own though!

I agree with you Ed. I checked out the Magnaflow but went with the Flowmaster for the deeper sound.

that's what my thoughts were...but not everyone wants to set off car alarms w/ their exhaust!!! and for that price i would go w/ Flowmaster to save $300!!

Anyone with a sound clip of the Flowmaster? The Magnaflow does sound tough and not obnoxious - something I like. I had a Magnaflow on my 2003 Lancer Evolution and I loved it. It was quiet in all conditions with the exception of WOT, when you WANT to hear it.

There is a site that you can get the magnaflow for $378. I am trying to decide on which one of these 2 to get. I wonder how the drone is on both at highway speeds. It's a hard choice to make. Were can I get the FM for $340?

If that Magnaflow for the Durango is anything like the one I had on my EVO, the drone is non-existent. I couldn't have been happier with an aftermarket muffler. The sound was strong, but subdued.

If the price difference is only $38 and you like more of a mild sound, I wouldn't count out the Magnaflow!

Also remember that the magnaflow setup is all stainless steel. I think BigEd6464's muffler is aluminized steel. Is that correct BigEd6464 ?

yes you are correct :)..i guess that would add to the sticker price some!!

For what it's worth...I have had the Magnaflow cat-back part #15830 on for 4 months now. In combination with the K and N Aircharger it works great. Lots of torque and better gas mileage. It is quieter between 2200 rpm on the highway than it is between 1800 rpm at highway cruising speed (75 vs 60 mph). It definitely turns heads at wot, actually, anything above 3000 rpm gets noticed. Also, it is hard to argue with 23 hp and 32 ft/lbs torque gain from the exhaust swap alone (got these numbers from Magnaflow before I ordered the exhaust). True dual would have been nicer to look at but you would give up the torque gain. Cheers. Jim.

The magnaflow has the deeper sound in my mind, there are a lot of magnaflow mufflers you just have to get the right one. Mine is louder then I wanted and louder then flowmaster 40's. The one on the Durango is 24" long mine is 14". I too love setting car alarms off, basically at just above idle.

Well I did it, I just threw down on the 15830 system. I hope it sounds good.

Does anyone have a pic or two with the Magnaflow system installed? BigEd's, flowmaster system looks great, but may be a tick too loud for my wife. The MF website gives two audio/video reels, but cleverly blocks out the view of the exiting system..

As far as the Dyno numbers go, I think some should put 'em to the test. I got an air intake off Flea-bay, and was told it would give me at least 10hp. I dynoed it before and after. I showed a peak gain of .3hp. Could'a been anything. I did see 13lb-ft of peak torque though. I'll take that for $150.

I will try to get a pic or two when I put my system on. I haven't tried posting a pic on this site yet since I'm new so I might need to just send it out.

hemihead. the Flowmaster system is somewhat loud...but it may indeed get wife/girlfriend approval...mine sounds fine at highway speed...only loud at WOT.......just my opinion.....
