Called 360 and informed of no fit problems and I am now waiting for a RA# to send it back. Waited almost a month to get it and it won't fit.
Basically, the air filter box hits the fender on the right rear, the left rear hitscorner of the engine & the inlet won't line up with the air intake port on the fender...........
It was ordered from Chris at EastCoastTruckin.com who is very willing to do whatever needs to be done to fix the problem. I know they are aware of 2 different engine locations on the RT depending on when it was made.
Sorry to say "I don't know if mine is an early or late production?". Delivered to the dealer 9/19 but the manufacturer date on the door states May 2005. That alone makes no sense to me............
OK! :D I took the air box in to an aluminium fabricating shop and they cut the back right corner on an angel and repaired the cut with a piece from the cut off.
Fits perfect. The cut (less that an inch allowed the box to set down close to the fender.
Easy fix. I still don't know why I am the only one so far with this problem.
Must have been a Friday late afternoon job.
No problem, It sounds great & hope it helps the gas milage along with the slight boost in HP.
Again Thanks for all your help & comments.

Here is a reply from 360 Air Intakez. This should solve the problem for future buyers.
QUOTE from JOE: I started cutting back the box about an 1”. I think it had to be my guy on our cutting machine. I think he put the wrong specs in for the dimension. When through all the boxes and found 2-3 of them to be off. But it’s all cleared up now, and we are about to release it for the 300C next. Thanks for the feedback and measurements, this helps out a lot from user feedback.
Take Care,

I have exactly the same problem. The bottom inlet tube is about 1.5" off, the front left corner (looking from the front of the car) interferes with the hoses into the radiator and it appears that the right rear lower corner is going to hit some internal structure. I've made a box of 1" thick foam to the dimensions of the metal box. I'm going to carve it to fit and see if the modifications can be done to the 360 box. I was told that 360 was working on a fix but they had a problem finding a RT to try it on.

Hello BadPenny.
360 SHOULD HAVE THE CORRECT MEASUREMENTS NOW.
As far as using thick foam to replace the box? I'm not sure I would personally try that. It "could" come apart or slowly disintegrate causing the filter to be partially plugged from the particles (or) if sealed well on all 4 sides, might even collapse.
I'd look into getting the aluminum box re-done over the foam box idea. Just a suggestion ;)
Good luck with the project.

Ha! Boy am I RED Faced..
Sorry. I see you were only using the foam for a template & not building the box as a replacement.
Please excuse?

360 AirIntakez quality sucks. I bought one a few months ago fo my truck and the parts were packaged in freezer bags with bubble wrap sitting on top of everything. In other words everything was clanking around which meant the air tube was scratched. The so called powder coating isn't powder coating at all because powder coating doesn't orange peel like regular paint does. Yes my air tube also had a boat load of orange peel on one end of it. Should have spent a few extra bucks on something of better quality.

I bought the 360 CAI, I installed it, and noticed the hose that comes from the intake to the CAI was to short. At the time it was the longest one I had, went out and got some numbers and noticed I was actually slower from 0 to 60, was posting 5.90, with the new CAI it went up over 6, was very disappointed, thought maybe the computer freaked out with all the new air it was getting. I drove to Texas, and posted new numbers today with same disappointing results. I replaced the hose thinking it might be kinked and causing some kind of problems will try to get more numbers tomorrow. Has anyone else had or experienced any problems???

All I can say is that Airaids is a nice WARM/HOT air intake. Not sealed anywhere from the engine compartment. The box around it is nothing short of a little bit of a heat shield. IMHO, not worth the money 'cause the factory unit at least draws in air from OUTSIDE the engine compartment.

I don't have an R/T so I can't comment on that but I am currently testing their intake for the 3.5L and so far, I have seen a dramatic performance increase (doing dyno test sometime next week if all goes well) and gas mileage has gone up in city driving by 1.5 MPG. I am taking a road trip to San Antonio from Houston Thursday and will post highway mileages when I get back. Keep in mind guys that this is a new car, new design (first year remember, hell, first 5 MONTHS!!) and 360 Air Intakez was the first aftermarket intake available because we kept hammering on them to get us something. Yeah there are rough spots in developing new products (what about all the issues everyone is having with the CAR, like the front end alignment being screwed from the factory and these are the guys that MAKE the car, I mean, there have already been at least 5 recalls on the Magnum!) and lets try to give some positive input instead of doggin' the guys. If we work with them, it will make it better for all of us in getting a better product in the future. Yes, it is frustrating dealing with gear that doesn't fit right but they are working with us and doing everything they can to make it right from what I've seen so far. Anybody been ripped off by them yet or not gottena response from your complaints?

I am seeking answers to the problem, I did test my car again yesterday and it ran 0 to 60 in 6.2 seconds, slower than the 5.9 seconds posted before installing it. I don't know what they can do, did send them an email tonite to see what kind of solutions they can come up with

i live by the adage...you get what you pay for....K&N just released a nice piece for you Magnum guys...check it out at www.knfilters.com

Yes, the K&N unit is nice but it is still a WARM to HOT air intake. It is not totally isolated from the engine compartment so it will still be pulling in air heated from the engine. The only improvement over the stock intake is a higher airflow which gives some imrovement but not as much as an intake drawing air from OUTSIDE the engine compartment with a large flow airfilter.

Just for s***s and giggles. Do you feel like putting your OEM intake back on and doing time trials again just to see if it really is an intake thing or could it be external parameters (humidity, temperature, type of fuel, etc) or maybe even something to do with how the ECU is set up to operate the fuel deliver etc during the life cycle of the new car. I know mine went from running great when I first got it, to running OK and really rich, to running like WTFH!! to currently running better than ever. I have heard so many stories about how the ECU resets fuel mixtures, timing curves, shift patterns, etc, during a certain miles or certain number of hours driven over a certain speed before it truly settles in to it's predetermined and final settings that I don't know for sure what is fact and Urban Legand now. I'm trying to get some hard line data from some of my friends at DC and everyone is very tight lipped about everything right now. I guess only time will tell the truth.
If you DO try the OEM intake again to verify times etc, it would really benefit the rest of us if you would post this info aftere your exercise as well as 360 in their evaluation and perfection of their product. Thanks and hope it all works out for the best.
and then you will need to input the last 8 characters of your VIN as indicated in the box and you will get a listing of any recalls / SBAs for your particular vehicle if any.
Let me know if there is anythjng else I can provide. Glad to assist.

Contacted 360 CAI, by email responded almost immediatley. Seems I have been shipped a 3.5 inch tube and filter instead of the 4 inch tube and filter. Waiting for the correct tube and filter, will run some new numbers to see if there is an actual increase or not.
To say the least they were extremly prompt and concerned of the problem.

That's one thing that I have noticed as well. When there IS a problem, you can actually get someone to respond very quickly. With my dealings with them, when I found a problem, missing part, wrong part or whatever, they get it out to me immediately and I mean IMMEDIATELY!! There have been two times that I had to get something additonal from them and on both occasions, it arrived in the mail THE NEXT DAY, with no extra charge!! Now that's what I call service. Thanks to Joe and all the guys at 360 for listening to us, responding, and being our NEWEST sponsor as well!!
